A deeper look within the Redcat Everest 10 crawler

If they're decent at printing, it will hold up just fine.

Also, the Everest 10 and Everest Gen7 use the same skid plate.

Think ill try the printed skid and I'll report back on it, also picked up a Rockslide last night so I'll be able to see what the difference is between a shafty and a moa.
 
Roaddog rc on facebook makes them. Ive built 3 crawlers with his skid . Just got 2 more for my next two builds. Ive never had an issue with my skids and they have taken nasty tumbles.. All my rigs are belly draggers. So they get drug across alot of stuff. It also lowers motor and trans plus moving the lower links in.
 
Ever tried the pen spring mod ?


Did the pen spring mod to all four shocks and used 35wt oil. So far I love what this did, lowered her down just enough, I think she sits right where I want her. Spent a little time out on the rocks and she did everything I thought she should and a few things I didn't, what a great free mod!
 
Yeah they fit but they are rubbish...get some out of steel ! "thumbsup"


I have been looking at steel, too. I just started a thread in "general crawlers" asking about best materials for running in saltwater, my rig has been seeing a lot of it! I would honestly stick with the stock plastic if I could but the steel universal joints on them are rusting faster than anything else on my truck.


Any input for best material/brand to stand up to saltwater appreciated!
 
i spent 20 years living on a sail boat in the ocean moored out a 1/4 mile off shore
stainless steal or galvanized steel works best in salt water you can use a good penitraiting fluid to protect steal from rusting too like duralube or corosion x just hit them after you go in the water and you should be good ive never worried about it i like the rust on my scalers it adds a bit of realism i wish i could get my axles to rust but pot metal dosent rust damb it lol

ive never seen anyone use titanium on the water

the shafts i linked are stainless that listing dosent say it but other listing for those shafts do say that so im asuming thouse are too but you can look around

Can anyone advise if you can use Gen7 pro cvd's in the E-10 housing and also can you use the regular Gen7 axles PN 70627?

Yes you can, though I understand using the CVD's only allows a small increase in steering angle over the dogbones and I'm pretty sure the Gen7 dogbones are identical to the E-10's just with a different part number.

Does that include shaving the steering bump-stops and raising the steering drag link? Those mods make a big difference even with the dogbones.
