A deeper look within the Redcat Everest 10 crawler

It would be nice if the E10 had its own section instead of posting in the RS10 thread. How do we contact a mod?
 
They all look like a 6 bolt pattern. The stock wheels are an odd 7 bolt. Maybe the smaller holes on the aluminum ones could be drilled out? It looks like the 6 hole pattern holes are larger.

Just read the whole thread lol. I started with a HSP Pangolin. I bought some sxial scx10 chassis rails etc and converted it all across for my 4yr old.
 
Oh also I think the stock HSP motor in these is a 60T. I had my hsp motor in my axial for a bit and after replacing it with an axial 55T motor it was faster. Plus when looking for the motor on ebay it lists the redcat version as 60T.
 
The stock redcat motor is said to be 40 turn but who knows. Those Axial beadlocks are very nice but they wont work for us. I may just have to get new wheels because I love the Tarantula rings lol
 
I bought a Pangolin and then the Everest for the wife to tag along.. found this thread while searching for info.
I outboarded the shocks on the Pangolin, then added a 5000 mah battery and tie wrapped in under the tray, sticking out front.
With the stock spacers on the front shocks, and none on the rear, it now has very little torque roll... great info from y'all!

As soon as the Everest gets here I'll do the same to it. The Pangolin has gone some stupid places on my back 40 so far and I am still modding.. just trimmed the foams and added some wheel weights. :)
 
I took the stock wheeks & tyres off and fitted some 1.9 wheels and bfg krawlers from an axial scx10 G6 Jeep and enjoyed it a lot more. I tried star cutting the foams. Tried no foams. Wasn't happy with anything.
 
Got my diff carriers from HobbyEase today. Took forever to get them and i'm not impressed. While they are made well, look great, and will last forever....... one of them had 3 of the 4 screws that hold the ring gear to the carrier stripped out. Thankfully the 4 screws from the original carriers are the same and solved the problem but that's pretty bad for a brand new part to come with 3 of the 4 screws stripped out. Anyway they went in easily, fit perfectly, and will certainly get the job done. Ran me about $40 for the paid of them after shipping which is quite a bit more than going with the Axial lockers however with these you don't have to file the axle shafts down. These are a direct fit and you keep the full size and strength of the axle shafts.

For some reason I cant post pictures, I wish I could. If someone can tell me how, i'll gladly post up pictures of the parts and assembly.
 
Are they alum or plastic? All I can seem to find are the plastic..

k, nevermind.. those are the good alum. All Helipal lists are the stock plastic. The link in the previous post doesn't go anywhere.
