719 Scale RC 4x4 Thread/Trail Runs/Rigs etc..

New Servo time. Leaning towards Savox. Figured I would ask for some opinions, thoughts, horror stories etc.

Savox SA-1231SG High Torque Coreless Steel Gear Digital Servo
Savox SA-1230SG Monster Torque Coreless Steel Gear Digital Servo
Savox SA-1283SG Aluminum Case Digital "Super Torque" Steel Gear Servo
Hitec HS-7954SH High-Voltage Ultra-Torque Dual BB Servo
Tower Hobbies TS-170 Standard Digital UT 2BB TG Servo (Hitec rebrand)
Tactic TSX65 Standard Digital Ultra-Torque HV MG Servo
Ace DSHV0615T Digital Hi Voltage Waterproof Servo

Thoughts? Recommendations?

Savox I would go 1230 or 1270 both are right at 500oz. Never had a issue with either one. Get a bec and a clamping servo horn and your fine. More than enough power for either

I have a Castle BEC (Yo dawg, I like castle. So I gots me castle to program my castle, connected to a castle) which I connected to castle link this morning to bump the voltage up to 7.4 after installing my Aluminum servo arm. A few trips across the living room, climbed some shoes, servo is dead :lmao: . It's making noise, and trying to do... something... Arm is tight, steering not bound up, put the truck in the air, nadda. Ahhhhh, RIP Hitec HS 5646WP. You were pretty awesome in my fresh-out-of-the-box Honcho, but a hard body, all aluminum everything and 8 additional pounds later, you called it a day. I'm gonna pull it off the truck and tinker with it, might get some more life out of the old girl yet for tonight lol.

if it doesnt I believe that h obbytown has a patriot servo with 300 and some oz of torque. Like David said I would try and get something with no less than 300.

I've decided to grab a Savox. Got my Hitec torn down (Figured I would remove old grease / add new grease and generally clean her up) And I am down to the SA-1231SG, and SA-1230SG. Between the 1231 and 1230, I really don't see why not get the 1230 (unless I am missing something) same price, same size, slightly slower, But tops out at 500oz where the 1231 tops out at 444oz.

Sir the 1230 doesnt come in a tg only sg. But I have the the 1230 in my wraith. You can see it in action tonight.

So this is gonna be a long ways out, but deciding on a class 1 rig. I was looking at the tf2 kit. I like the leaf and 2 speed trans. But then I was looking at the the scx10 rubi kit. I could use the jk on the beast and throw a yota or ford on the scx. Opinions?

Personally speaking, I'd go for the RC4WD kit. The front motor setup and all aluminum everything is the bee's knees. Your servo will already be on the chassis, and using Gelande II parts, setting up behind the axle steering would be a snap. Plus it has a legit transfer case (my favorite part). If you don't like the leaf performance you can always opt for the 4-link kit. Just remember, thread lock is your friend.

Unit719 has a good point....BUT, It depends on what you wanna do with it...trail or comp. To be competitive you'll probably want to get a scx10...unless you get thr rc4wd tf2 (links kit+$100). I'd go for a scx10 cause the aftermarket and awesome out of the box performance. Be warned tho C1 rigs are pretty limited in the performance department soooooo...yeah. Do some more research and think about it.
