17 Sold in the last 2 hours

Loved mine, but sucked to work on.
Yeah, that's what i have been seeing. Too bad as it is a really cool scale RC.

Kinda why i went with the RZR version of this platform. Just 4 body clips and you have access to everything

Its a fun rig! I ended up spending Duckett on mine, so, I dont have to work on it at all!!!

Sold out now, and I was just going to buy one after brewing on it. Parts are why I hesitated. Reviews were less than stellar from AMain. You can build most anything Axial via aftermarket widgets. Time to buy the Ryft axle instead????

RZR version is a lot easier to work on/clean and another great scale runner for the dirt

It's a good thing they finally sold out, because I was going to get another Losi "Rey" to add to my collection!

In the RZR Rey thread, I mentioned I got the Baja Rey v1.0 also. Within the first battery pack, I did roll it end-over-end and one of the lower ball-ends to the shocks stripped off the damper shaft, as well as one of the stabilizer mounts popping off its ball-end as well.

It took removing 12 screws and keeping track of 12 plastic spacers to access the upper rear shock mount to remove it and install a new shock ball-end (ensuring the new one would actually thread on straight--I suppose I could have just left the top of the shock on, and threaded it, but since I wanted to make sure the new part got optimally threaded, I went ahead and took the time to do it.

Going forward, I think removing the cage and body from the chassis is the way to go about doing things to the internal of that style of vehicle. The RZR Rey for sure fixed a lot of the access issues.

I think people that are disappointed with the "Rey" platform or Traxxas UDR are expecting them to drive like an independent suspension RC "monster truck." In terms of access, some sort of pivoting access to at least the front half of the vehicle would have worked WONDERS in selling more of these things and for them to be more widely accepted.

I wanted it for a tow rig, wouldn't have gotten abused, just needed to narrow the track a bit. If they would promote racing they would sell more units.

It would be awesome, but the average off-road racer can barely drive a course for 5 laps without hitting any of the track boundaries, I think there will be lots of breakages from that alone. I've watched spec Slash 2wd/4x4 races and the amount of traction rolls is comical, these things would be a lot worse. If there was a spec class for any of these desert runner style rigs, the turn martials will definitely get a workout just flipping them back on their wheels!

I've taken the RZR Rey out on some "fun" 5-lap races against a field of Slash 4x4s and I'm usually in the top 3 against a field of 12. It's definitely a point and shoot strategy and hold the inside line as much as possible, otherwise you are trying to balance between high corner speeds and higher chances of rolling over. For as heavy as that thing is, the RZR Rey rips on 2s and maybe even has better acceleration and top speed to any of the VXL Traxxas 4x4s given the same battery.

RZR has to be one of the most underrated RCs out there for a scale runner. Runs great and challenging to drive correctly, but once you figure it out super rewarding.
Needed to throw some weight in the back to get it to fly a little better.

I've got the red version posted about about it in the losi subforum.

Bought it the 1st week it was out.
Other then locking the rear and adding the real rear stabilizers it's a great unit.
So far in all all the years all I have broke is I strippex the hub on the rear rim.
Swapped it with the one on the bed and back to driving.
They are not like anything else when it comes to driving.
Now that I know they are disco'd I'll be looking for another one.

Horizon hobby, iirc, has the red panels on sale right now. I ended up picking up the parts for a spare cage and a clear body a few weeks ago.
