1/6 Hemi powered Willys Jeep Hot Rod

A comp one day would be cool...as long as the rules don't get out of hand. These things are a blast to detail out, choices are endless.
Love the canteen reddevil. "thumbsup" That's what is so intriguing to me about the large scale, you can get so many more details right.

NOW THAT'S SOME FUNNY STUFF :lmao:

Love the build ...we will comp ...........someday
If you guys put on a 1/6 comp I'll certainly have to get one built and come out. "thumbsup"

Hey all, small update time.
I had some scattered time in the shop, got a bit done and wanted to show all for feedback. Let me know what you think.

Body is completed for the most part minus decals etc.

Well, that's all for now. Thanks for lookin !!

i have that issue, bought it at the airport and have kept it just for the 1:1 article this is based off of.

nice build. "thumbsup"

very nice work! I have a suggestion about 1 important detail. If you could hollow out the exhaust pipe at the collector, it would give it a lot of "depth". You could even cut off the solid piece and make a new collector from styrene.

Thanks guys, hope to have a little update tonight.

After more mock up of the grill, I need to cut a channel in the body to allow it to sit lower on the chassis.

Small update, not much time to be had for this. More to come.
Worked on the grill, I used 14g sheet metal as I need to braze the mounts to it.

Thats all for now. Thanks for looking.

LOL, just the one so far. Started on this several weeks ago actually. Still not sure if I am happy with it yet.

It looks good, the slots look nice and clean. I'm laminating some styrene together to try another attempt, I'll use the mini mill while I still have it available.

Thanks, it was a PITA getting the arches by the headlights to look decent. That was all done with hand files...SMALL ones !!

I am still trying to find light buckets and lenses for it though, need 1" dia, non working on this one but I need to rear section to look good as it is exposed and easy to see.

Your killing me!
King of 1/6th scale builds.

Maybe one day we will have 1/6th comps

NOW THAT'S SOME FUNNY STUFF :lmao:

Love the build ...we will comp ...........someday

Yes, the idea is slowly growing! 1:6th Nationals!!! "thumbsup" if it did happen, I'd bet a lot of Jeep builds would get fires built under their butts as soon as it was announced!

you made 2 of those, right?;-)

Or 3 maybe?? that looks sweet if you ask me...

So much nice detail going into this! I love the canteen catch-can! Definitely an excellent touch...
