1/24 HobbyPlus CR-24 & new 1/18th scale!!

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

I've seen that video but just assumed it was a prototype / Media review unit. Interesting to see that there is a version with separate Electronics. while it does often make for a very compact Electronics setup I am not a fan of the all-in-one units on micros.

Ya know, I just cruised my tan/yellow one around for 20 minutes and its awesome.
This one seems to be much smoother and throttle response is much better than my blue one that pops a knuckle every now and then. I can crawl or cruise.
Spoo your right. I see no reason to upgrade the electronics on this one. I like it just the way it is.

I just picked up a fried trial trekker that I think I'll give a new esc and receiver.
Anybody know any tricks to getting Rc4wd micro beadlocks together? They've been kicking my butt.

URUAV is what BangGood is calling it. Interesting.

Way too expensive to get them from ebay or bandgood. Aliexpress just had them on sale for like $109 Canadian.

Been there, done that. Get longer M1.6 screws. Length 6's or 8's work fine. Once you have two longer screws threaded in the hub, you can install the stock short screws a lot easier. Just replace the long screws once you have the other four installed.

Thanks man. Appreciate it.

I was getting pretty frustrated.
Gotta get me some screws.

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

Would the 1/18 Gelande II D90 body be able to be fit to this chassis?

I really want to get a micro, but I'm not committed to spending big money BUT I also want to keep it more scale.

I've read that the 1/18 Gelande bodies are a decent fit (with some custom mounting) and are still available pretty cheap. Just wanted to confirm the wheel base is close.

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

Track width is close. Wheel base needs to be extended. This is on a Barrage which has the same wheelbase.

Is the Gelande 2 1/18 body not metal or something heavy? How does the motor/drive components hold up with the extra weight on top?

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

Plastic, is say thicker and stronger than a static model, but less thick and heavy than a toy from say, new bright. Considering it's size it's definitely lighter than Diecast

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

New HobbyPlus 18th scale coming soon!?
Still haven't seen anyone mention the new HobbyPlus 18th scale I assume will be called CR-18 that was shown at the China expo. It looks based on CR-24 parts, but widened at the outter axle C-hubs, lockouts, and axle shafts. Same axle centers. It's lengthened with a longer chassis, rear links, and rear driveshaft. Awesome looking bigger tires, same wheels, skid plate axle centers and everything else. It looks similar in size to the RC4WD mini Gelande. the bodies look sweet as well, hopefully they make it to production.
If these widened axles are indeed as wide as the RC4WD it would be very cheap and easy to narrow these axles with CR-24 or even Barrage/RGT parts to make this perfect for 1/20 builds.

That looks awesome!
It does! I'm pretty excited for it and plan to own a few. I'm told not everything is finalized yet, but there will be power, more scale, and better performance.
I'm especially liking the fact it's using existing parts, I really like when parts are compatible and common.

If this is true, then it's almost a guaranteed buy for me. 1/18 is a nice size. Small enough for indoor and big enough to be fun outdoor!
