1/24 HobbyPlus CR-24 & new 1/18th scale!!

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

I wanted to check back in with an update. Asiatees replied with the following on 3/6/19:

"...We will need to pass your video to the stock team to review, at this time, please do not use the unit for now until we h ave replied you with an update..."

I e-mailed today asking for an update.

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

Sweet, make sure to remind them it's a reoccurring problem with a few people. I'm pretty sure it's just the Carrier hub not staying securely on the axle.

This. I have the Aliexpress version, but Asiatees seems to be the main distributor/parts dealer.

I'd be happy to complain to Aliexpress if anyone thinks it might help.

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

hey there.
okay here's a noob question... just got two of these (for my two nephews) from asiatees... and i just realized - will the transmitters/receivers interfere with each other if running at the same time?

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

They shouldn't. I haven't used mine at the same time but most RCs like this will have spread spectrum technology which automatically changes the channel to another.

ok that's good to hear. guess i'll find out when they arrive. i bought them el cheapo drift rc's a few years ago and they weren't able to race 'em.
...but really who am i kidding. i'll most likely keep the one for myself. nephews are just a convenient excuse :lmao:

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

Ok, so Asiatees support's solution was to send out a complete replacement. I was asked to send back my original to an address in the USA (which I did). I missed delivery today (need to sign for it), but I should get tomorrow. Perhaps there have been updates to the parts?

On a separate note, at the same time I ordered the Asiatees CR-24 Defender, I ordered the CR-24 blue Jeep from Aliexpress...which arrived today! Unfortunately I cannot get it to work. I am so frustrated at this point. With 2 different sets of fresh batteries in the transmitter, the transmitter emits a loud beeping noise, and 2in1 keeps flashing red. After reading the directions, and popping open the 2in1 case, I attempt to bind the transmitter following the directions, but no luck. I used two different binding plugs I had laying around. I'm just about to give up and take a loss, as communicating with seller on Aliexpress does not seem like a welcome endevour. Sorry to expand on my original post, but any thoughts? perhaps a faulty transmitter or ESC/receiver?

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

Strange problem, have you tried binding your other transmitter and ESC to each other to see if the problem follows the transmitter or ESC?

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

Great idea! I will try when I take delivery of the Asiatees replacement Defender tomorrow. So strange. I also found the included battery micro JST connector does not fit the female connector coming from the 2in1. Luckily I have 4 batteries on standby. I didn't mention earlier, but I found one of the suspension links not connected to the frame, but that should not matter. The vehicle looks to have no wear or signs of use.

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

BTW, I just received a reply from Aliexpress vendor...that I messaged minutes after leaving my first post here this evening. Wow. Told me he was contacting Hobby Plus, and would get back to me.

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

Man, I have 3 Asiatees defenders with none of these issues (so far) other than the Carrier hub that pops off the first one that gets driven the most.

That is good to know. Hopefully Aliexpress vendor (via Hobby Plus) has quick fix for Jeep, and the Defender I receive tomorrow is good to go. Well, great opportunity to exercise my patience

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

I received my replacement form Asiatees, and everything is good so far. Also, I did successfully bind the Asiatees Defender transmitter my the Aliexpress Jeep. Thanks again for that suggestion. Looks like a defective transmitter for the Aliexpress Jeep. Hopefully the vendor honors the sale and makes it right. I sent video of what happens (very loud beeping from the transmitter), and he said he would reach out to Hobby Plus for solution.

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

Glad things worked out so far and awesome that Hobby Plus was so helpful so quickly. Its a shame bigger companies like Proline couldn't do that with the Ambush.

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

Got another set of RC4WD 1" stamped steel wheels. They look great, but rub pretty bad on the CR-24 Defender. Anyone know if body posts are available as spare parts yet? Maybe I'll just do some trimming of the body.

I’d personally trim the body back some. Remove the downturned portion of fender flare off for starters. They look good on there.

Look at these: https://www.shapeways.com/shops/lynxmicrotech

I’m running a set of the wide Classic II wheels on my Barrage. Love then. They’re glue on but just a few drops each side is enough to hold them.

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

I cant believe it. Its been a while everyone.
There is a new/awesome version of the cr-24 in korea.
Linky
RC

Flysky electronics, 3 wire servo, quicrun 1625 esc.
I wish we had this version available to us before I bought 2.
Gives me headache.

Man, I already have three because I got such a good deal on the last two, but I really wish this version with separate Electronics was available here I would have definitely purchased those instead.

FWIW the CR-24 is now also available from BangGood. https://m.banggood.com/URUAV-124-4W...ntent=may&_branch_match_id=514235095192285136

Re: Asia Tees 1/24 Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender & D1RC Jeep

Now I'm kind of wondering if its an April fools or something.
I have a feeling it might be b.s. There was a youtube vid that said unboxing but he didn't unbox anythIng he just showed the truck and radio. Could be a scam. Who knows?
I also don't see how the heck they're powering the lights.
I do like the way the esc and reciever are mounted. It 'll copy that.
