I left the Crawler at work and you'd think I'd remember the damn hex to hex width but I can't remember for the life of me right now LOL. I"ll get that for you guys on Monday.Rich
did you remember to check this?
so is this the kind of customer suport I could expect if I bought one of these new crawlers?:lol:Nope, forgot. My bad, tomorrow for sure.
I swear :lol:Slacker!
im new, why would it burn upyou simply need a more powerful motor, at the colorado comp a couple of weeks ago jason had his rock force out and burnt up the brushed motor in only a couple of minutes:shock: plus, you would hardly have any wheel speed, I would think
The thing about the Losi is the worm gear axles. Worm gears have a really high gear ratio and there is really no solving that without changing them, so to make up for it a higher speed motor is needed. A slower motor like a 55t won't work because it is too slow and won't be spinning the axles fast enough.
If you guys are wanting to jump directly into a comp rig, this might be it... but my attitude with everything is "wait and see".
I am new at this as well. I was planing on buying an Axial until I found out about the Losi. Here is my question (which has kind of been asked but not completely answered). This will be my first rig and don't want spend a fortune. Can I put a regular motor and 7.2V system on this truck and make it work, or do I have to buy the brushless set up? I want to start with the basic stuff and then can always upgrade later if I like. If its going to cost me $600 to $700 to get into this truck, I simply can't afford it. It looks like an awesome truck though!
Thanks
...I would think some twisting would be there still...
I just gave up my 1:1 scale crawler cause it was too expensive. I was hoping this would be a cheaper alternative. Boy was I wrong!! lol
I know this isn't the place for newb questions but I am with jamieB on this one. I was looking at the Venom cause I can get everything I need for close to 600$. This comp crawler is in my opinion far superior than the Venom, but it looks like I will be in it for at least a grand by the time I am done. Not to mention the local track does not even have a rock crawl course set up (but was promised one soon)!
Can I use any 3 channel radio? I love the ds3x but that is where I could save close to 200$ if I can use a cheaper alternative.
Other than that, I am sold on this!!! Thank god I got to the hobby store after it closed or I would have ordered my Venom TODAY!!!
The roller is top of the line, and very reasonably priced for what you get, the rest of the parts needed to make it RTR are where a guy can decide how much to spend.
Not everybody competes;-)
And I'd suggest this truck to anybody just getting started in crawling, set it up how you want, from mild to wild in the electronics department, depending on your budget, and have a great performing rig.8)
Define comp ready...that's the beauty of this sport, diversity.
