Yeti Jr. upgrades

I see axial steel front shafts, did u use the steel gpm cvd and hex or the aluminum axial ones
I used the aluminum axial cvd cup with the steel shaft.

My GPM order hasn't arrived yet and I needed the truck this week.

Feels pretty smooth with a spray of jig a loo graphite

What happened to your gpm steel hexes and cvd’s from when u broke your shafts

The left axle shaft broke near the CVD joint.
It's either a factory defect in the metal or there was sand and it ground out the metal

This thing is wack

True. But it looks promising.

Pot metal diffs.

Hey all - Just getting back into RC after a looong hiatus. I snagged NOS Yeti Jr. for my son to get into things with me, at a lower cost.

I've not torn into the Jr. yet and haven't spotted any chatter around my question, so forgive it's a rehash.

(But) Is the motor mount adjustable so I can swap pinions? I'd like to size down the pinion and/or size up the spur. The intention is to slow things up a bit as it'll be my sons 1st proper RC and way way faster than dinky toy he's had

Thanks

The pinion is a very small bore not used by many RCs you might find one but it's gonna be a hard one.
Same with the spur, it's almost impossible to find a different tooth count.

Look through this thread and think about going full modded.
It's easy to add a 1/10 ESC and the battery tray from Anthony Chwalek (Facebook). The stock motor and servo can be used.
All you need is a regular RX, like the tactic TR325 which is pretty cheap or any RX from your existing radios

If you get a 1/10 ESC like the hobbywing 1080 you can adjust the throttle from 25% to 100%

If you can find the pinion packs for the long lost Losi Mini, they will work but may not provide enough gearing to slow it down considerably. Stepping up to a better Tx/Rx can help as well as a better ESC. I use a RadioLink but would suggest a FlySky for the cost effectiveness and user inputs. You can control so much more from the Tx than your stock one for a reasonable cost. Then add a dozen or more RCs to the TX.

Radiolink RC4GS for the win!
I use it for the bomber

Thanks for the thoughts and info.

FWIW Anthony Chwalek has a Shapeways store. One doesn’t even need to track him down via Facebook.

I’ve been looking at a Flysky as a cost effective option as I snagged a 1:10 yeti and plan on doing a crawler over the winter. I’m pondering a 2 speed for the Yeti and really want to do a remote selectable lighting set up... so 4+ channels are gonna be needed.

If you track him down on Facebook you get better service, cheaper price and faster shipping [emoji41]

One of us! One of us!

Welp got some Axial driveline beefups on the way. 1.5 batteries in the predictable happened and we broke an axle shaft. I’d hoped to get more run time before that. But oh well.

Found Anthony Chwalek on FB, and hit him up via messenger. But since I’m not “a friend” he’s not seen it. Messenger tends to bury stuff from randoms.

Any thoughts on a not too pushy way to catch his notice?
