XC Pajero Dakar Thingy-ma-bob

Yeh I've heard that before aswell and can kinda see it. I could always go the full monty and paint it up in black zebra stripes, safari style.

Then again...

its interesting to me that so many people ask about a Suzuki Samurai body and this, with the back cut off, looks just like one to me...

"thumbsup"

it is pretty close huh. I didn't catch it until you said something. That may be worth trying

Well, here's a very, very crude mock up of what I'm going for. I was originally planning on doing a dropped bed, but it would have to be a drop of about 1cm for it to avoid hitting the top of the chassis, which I think would loks silly and would be too much more work. So instead, I've gone for a flat bed on top of the rear, and have also done a quick red wall for the cab. Need ideas for window design for it, though.

Obviously, it's no-where near done. I'll sand it down so the styrene is flush with the body and make sure there are no gaps.

Why not give it a soft style tonnue (sp?) cover and rear window...
This way it looks like there is an interior or somthing underneath it, as opposed to just flatbedding it with styrene... just a thought...

I thought about giving it a material cover, but the reason I didn't was because I didn't think it would be different enough to warrant chopping the thing up.

Did a bit more work on it today, glued the red bed on and made up a rollcage type thing to sit on the rear. Obviously, I'm going to sand te styrene down so it sits flush, and get rid of all the glue (I used 2 part Araldite to glue to bed down as the plastic weld wasn't strong enough for such small contact areas)

I thought about it, but the reason I didn't it beacuse I didn't think it would look different enough from the original body to warrant chopping the back off.

Anyway, I've sanded the styrene down some for and it's all pretty flush now. I'll have some more pics asap, after I've done a bit more to it.

I'm still waiting on those tyres from TCS.
