Wraith Beginners Guide

Hi all. Thanks Harley for so much great info, very much appreciated. I haven't had to ask any questions (as yet) as everything is here for us newbies, all you have to do is search.

Harley would u still say the MIP driveshafts r still the best on the market for the wraith? This is my first question I've had to ask in the year I've been a member bc with all the info u and others have provided on rc crawler has answered every question I've had. Thanks for all the great and detailed info.

Harley would u still say that the MIP driveshafts r still the best ones out there for the a wraith? Also, I'd like to thank u for the great info I've had my wraith for over a year and rc crawler has had all the answer I was looking for.

Would you say it is better to buy an AR60 set or buy the parts to build them and get some HD stuff up front?

Thanks! This is gonna be a brushless go fast rig, I should have mentioned that. Still the same suggestions as to upgrading as I can?

Just pulled the trigger on a kit that should arrive next week. I don't know what they have upgraded from the RTR and would like to know what are the parts that I shouldn't even bother putting on the truck and should replace. Also would like to know what part I should keep on hand in my spare part bin. If it has already been posted, I have read through some of the posts but have not been able to find it. or is it in another thread.

I would recommend aluminum knuckles and c-hubs. Maybe some MIP drive shafts if you are going with lots of power... Then Robinson Racing tranny gears.

I would just use the chassis, skid, interior and body panels. And that's about it.

I'm getting ready to build up my 3rd wraith and I'm thinking I'll just order those pieces and get the rest of the parts that I've already put into my other two from the start.

I just got the tekin pro4 3300Kv motor and mmp ESC for my wraith per Harleys recommendation and it is awesome! On 2s with 54/14 32p gearing it has pretty good wheel speed but I want more  so I am wanting to go to 3s and 54/11. My question is what is a good/cost effective option on a 3s battery for this combo? I have Gens ace 5000mah 50c 2s now.

I have been using these packs on my Wraith with the Pro4 for quite awhile. They work fantastic.

Turnigy 2200mAh 3S 40C Lipo Pack

Ordered my batteries from hobbyking yesterday! Got my conformation email saying it could take 45 days! Do they usually take this long or do they say that to give themselves some cushion time?

Depends were they are coming from, I have ordered a few from them them and it's never been more than a 3 weeks. When I ordered from the US, I had them in 10 days.

Hi,

I am a total newb to rc cars, trucks and crawlers. I do have plenty of rc experience in aircraft. I just purchased a Wraith rtr to drive around my property which has a little bit of everything (except water). I would like speed over crawling ability so I guess good speed and ok crawling is my best choice. My question is if I do upgrade (change) to a brushless setup, are the choices you showed on the first page appropriate for 2s lipos? I will drive around on the stock setup until the stock motor gives up and then upgrade. But I'd rather not change the battery I purchased (2sx5000).

If the suggestions are not appropriate for a 2s lipo, do you have any recs for that voltage? Or is it just a matter of pinion selection? Sorry for the dumb questions. Thanks a lot for any help.

2s is appropriate for anything on that list. You'll still have good performance out of the systems listed.
