Wraith Beginners Guide

I want to upgrade to a HH 13t Crawlmaster and BRXL. Besides regearing, will I need to start collecting replacement parts for teh drivetrain before they start breaking, or is that combination play nice with the stock parts?

Harley, do you suggest using a servo saver especially after replacing plastic steering links with titanium? I am running a 7955TG servo with a rather low-geared 35T setup.

Harley,
Got a question for ya. Need your valuable input! I posted this in the Wraith threads, so I apologize for the double post - please don't beat me!!!

I've ordered the super shifty top shaft, along with the RRP Gen 3 slipper (56t 32p). I've read that the Gen 3 slipper requires you to run a 32p .8 mod pinion. The only 32p .8 mod pinions I can find have the 5mm orifice for the motor shaft. I have a HH TM pro motor, which is 1/8" shaft.

I've also read that a .8 module is actually 31.7(something) pitch - close enough to 32p to run together.
Do I run just a regular 32p pinion with the Gen 3 slipper, or do I get the spacer for my motor shaft that allows the use of a 5mm orifice on a 1/8" shaft?

Thanks for your help!!!

Any regular 32p pinion will work just fine. No need to worry. I ran the Traxxas pinions personally.

hello, I've spent the past few days reading through this thread, amazing amount of info in one place, thanks so much to all who contributed.
I ordered my wraith a few days ago along with a 2s 6000Mah 35c battery, I checked the dimensions for the battery case and it fits but just wanted to make sure the RTR wraith would run ok with it. Chose it more for the longer run time than anything.
Thanks in advance.
Vortex.

Yeah it's just a standard 2s lipo. Nothing odd about that.

Thanks I just wanted to make sure.

I just got my RTR a week or so ago. I am experiencing all the things I've read about.

1. Bottom screw in the steering knuckle came out. We're down! Stole a screw from a headlight to get back up & running. Ordered a bunch of extras from RPP. Added a drop of medium CA to the rest of them.

2. Steering servo arm stripped. New one on order from Hobby King along with a couple more 2S Lipos to replace the ones I f'ed up while soldering the Deans plugs on.

I would CA those screws & order an almuminum servo arm before you even run it. At least get those two things out of the way.

I have a question about doing 4WS, i wanna use dual JR DS8711 servos for front a rear steer, do i need to run dual 10 AMP CC BEC setup or just a single CC 10 amp BEC? Im going to be using a MMP and Tekin Pro 4 3300KV combo with a 3 cell. Also will i notice a voltage drop when using 4WS? thanks!

Some people have better luck then others with a single BEC. If you put yours in a hard bind you may still see brown outs with one BEC. You can just get two to start with or you can give it a try and see how it goes with one.

I'm running this same set up but with a Tekin RX8, you will need two BEC's. Mine kept stalling out when crawling in the rough stuff.

Does the RTR now come with R35 ripsaws? All the info I checked, I can only find that Axial only makes the R35 compounds now. I can only find one Ripsaw - the R35 and the part numbers in the manuals all match the R35 part number.

I just finished reading the whole thread. Great read and thanks for the effort in keeping us all informed"thumbsup"

No, the stock tires are still a harder compound. R35 tires are all that are available for sale though.
