I didn't see the option on the MMX."CHEAT MODE, Castle's High Energy Advanced Timing allows users to electronically advance their sensored motor's timing to extreme settings.
This can often yield just that extra bit of power needed to win the race. Be careful – there’s never a free lunch, extra power comes with extra motor heat!"
(from a Mamba Max Pro article that can no longer be found - I'll keep looking)
I see NO mention of CHEAT Mode for the Mamba Monster X, however - only the Mamba Max Pro...
If your not planning to go past 20mph or hill climb 30 minutes straight you're probably fine, my stock geared wraith has never had issue. Just watch the heat till you know how your driving and terrain loads the system.
I got sick of trying to make my Tekin ROC412 work with my Castle MMX. Castle now tells me there is a firmware bug causing the cogging. Well I bought a Holmes Hobbies Puller Pro 3500kV to try since people are saying they've had great luck with the MMX/PP combo. I tried the Puller Pro with both MMX's, two different LiPos, different settings on the latest firmware, and even a Holmes sensor wire that gets rid of the Castle sensor harness and it still cogs just as bad as with the ROC412.
The Holmes motor also didn't cog on my 35A HobbyKing ESC, but the startup is so abrupt that I'm not sure I could have gotten it to cog if I wanted it. The ROC412 have a much better and smoother startup with this cheapo ESC.
I give up.
If Castle can't fix the MMX I'm not going to trust them with another ESC.Sounds like it's time for A mmp
Got this guy in the mail today. Will get it soldered up asap to give her a go in my Bomber.

Looks awesome. I have been looking at them for a while but can't decide between the 2600 550 and the 3600 540. The other thing that is holding me back is needing 5mm pinions. I've got a full stable of 1/8 pinions.

I have a few 5mm pinions for my go fast trucks but they are higher tooth counts. I need to pick up an 11 and 12t pinion from the LHS today.
