Mercedes and I and the SCX climbed spruce mountain in plainfield today with a couple friends and had lunch at the top.

I'd be down for crawling tomorrow.

Sometimes I can't help myself. A new Venom Creeper showed up today. I don't even have enough electronics to run it yet, but they will come in due time (and paychecks).

Was a spectator at Bradford on Saturday. I was surprised I didn't see you there, Hyde.

Hey guys, what would be a good number pinion gear to run with an 87 spur on a ax-10. or what would be good ratio.?

Really depends on your motor and driving conditions. I mostly crawl with mine, so I like lower gearing.

I've found a 12 tooth to work well with a 27 turn.

A 14 tooth to be a good match for a 35 turn.

And a 16 tooth for a 55 turn motor.

Had an HPI 15 turn with a 12 tooth pinion, but it still didn't crawl as well as I'd have liked.

Im about 3 hours away from having my 87 on the road again. Then ill be down for weekly crawlings again..

I got the creeper mostly together. Still gotta paint the body, and purchase electronics, and finish the ghetto fab BTA servo mount I concocted.

I got the Creeper's body painted, the tires sipped, and am awaiting arrival of electronics.

RC TTC is November 18th if anyone wants to carpool to Manchester.

Motors runnin great.

Played around on some snow banks (small ones) today with the maxstone. I know its dark by after work crawlin time, but I cant wait for some real snowbanks. Haha

Funny, Mercedes and I went for an hour expedition on the Millstone Trail network and a small partially iced over brook with the SCX today.

Yeah, daylights savings sucks. Barely light when I get to work, dark when I get out.

I finished 8th out of 14 trucks at TTC and the truck waited till the last event, the mud pit, to let the magic smoke out of the new-that-morning motor. Not bad for the only rig on 1.9's.

Took the Creeper on it's maiden run last weekend while the snow was still away. Conquered everything the 302 side of the East Barre had to offer.

While I did do some tinkering (homemade BTA, siped tires, and upper links almost as long as the lowers), it goes incredibly well for an otherwise stock rig.

If it holds together like it crawls, it'll be a winner. I've got about an hour (2 packs) on it now and the only issue was a bolt that fell out of my tie rod and drag link. My own damn fault cause the bolt was barely to short for the nylock to grab the threads. Longer bolt and double nutted it to be sure it wouldn't come loose again.

I'm up for midmorning Saturday crawling on brook rd in Plainfield if anyone else would like to join.

Theres a 2.2 TTC in Manchester NH on May 26. If anyone wants to carpool let me know, I leave early though. On the road by 6:30 AM for signups between 9 and 10.

The TTC in Manchester NH has just been rescheduled to June 9th.

I was all excited to go, now I have to wait 2 more weeks!

Glad that charger is working for you Hyde. I'm down for crawling after work some day.

Theres also supposed to be a mudbog at Robinsons in Calais on Saturday may 25th. I'll be abusing my blue truck with it's new shoes. Give me a call if you'd like to go.
