Whats everyone up to?

Blue truck is "back road legal" Haha. Registered and insured, but no inspection. But my 4runner is available for light wheelin.

The notch would have been fun. Went to a party in johnson that was a flop. Hardly anyone there, but still a good time.

Was bored this Am and fitted the madcrawler "hummer" body on the maxstone 16. Fits quite well and is alot lighter than than the exploder body. Might even have to switch back to the soft springs.

For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to 4Wheel my DD since I couldn't make shop time for the broken truck.

Idiot mayforth and I took our open/open junks out into the Notch for two hours and went a whole 1.7 miles. Good times. I didn't get stuck, and I didn't break anything.

Spent an hour at the East Barre Dam with the SCX today, but no pics. Noticed when I got home that both E-clips holding the pinion side U-joint MIA, not sure how it didn't fall apart.

Yeah, slowness has a lot to do with how well these little trucks hold together. The SCX can be hammered down on any surface and not break anything, but it only does 5 mph.

The Wraith only does about 14mph, but in six packs of cold weather usage I've broken the chassis, servos, front wheelbearings, rear pinion bearings, and all the lower rod ends are loose so I gotta drill them out and retap for 4mm studs and Revo ends. Not exactly impressive.

looks like we lost some stuff. lol Hyde802 I have seen you at the Wolcott Store a couple of times. I live there. I drive the Black 2nd gen Tacoma that is normally parked by the pay phones.

AAh I gotcha. Wernt you in the process of doing an SAS on something not too long ago? Wolcott has some fun places to crawl..In the summer when its light out I like to stop on my way home from work.

The snows great for crawlin right now. Need to start bringing it with me so I can crawl at lunch. Haha.

Yep thats me. I have know gone a different route. I ended up buying an 81 hilux last fall. And I'm now slowly working restoring it. I eventually want to put a 1.9l tdi in it.

Whats wrong with "restoring " a Toyota? And if you can find me a Toyota turbo diesel that's not completely shot or a million dollars I would put one of those in it . And whats wrong with a TDI? You can make good power out of a TDI and I can make it all mechanical so no electrical gremlins to deal with.

Its all good. I'm not to worried about it. I guess i could have worded my statement better. I want to fix it up to mostly original and add a few upgrades. But the upgrades won't be for awhile. I'm hoping to have it on the road this summer. I will post a few pictures of it.

Cool truck. I've always had a thing for the round head lights.

I too would love a factory turbodiesal toyota pickup in the crew cab straight axle version. Too bad we're not as cool as Australia.

Don't take my comment personally. I've just worked on to many Volkswagens to ever want to mix any part off of one with my Toyotas.

None of my trucks are as cool as yours, and are to rusty to worry about restoring, but at least it has hood pins.

Not stuck yet, but about to be.

And you can see my rusty DD in the background of this one.

Its my dream truck. I have big plans for it in the future. How far down the road is any ones guess. lol My big goal is to have it on the road this summer so I can drive it some.

Wish I'd gotten your message bout wheeling earlier. I check this site much more frequently than FB.

Put together a doubler for a friend last week. Makes me want one for my woods beater.

Finally got to hit up the East Barre dam without any snow. Got about an hour out of the SCX before stripping a spur gear. The little buggar has been extremely reliable lately, so something had to let go.

Someone auta pick a weekend date to crawl Spruce mountain, or Horn of the Moon if'n the snow stays away.

I'll be crawling at Horn of the Moon, right off of route 12 leaving montpelier, on Saturday the 24th about noon for anyone who wants to come. Be my first time there this year.

I'll be bringing spare rod ends and body clips.

I just had stuff come up. I dought I will be able to make it now. But I will try to make it if I can.

Edit: Looks like Ill be there with just the 'Stone. I took the MadCrawler apart after work today, the grinding noise was actually a blown up little bearing. Haha. Its pretty cute. Looks like ill be ordering some parts.

If you get me the size, I probably have a couple kicking around. Or at least a bushing. Sometimes the 5x8's or 5x10's just won't hold up and you'll actually be better off with a bronze bushing.

See you there!
