What the newest cheap servo hotness?

Please keep us posted on how well the Evo P2 works - unless the ProModeler 420 comes back in stock soon, I think this is what I may need as a back up for my HH SHV500...

I go an early production run model of the Holmes and if it needs the pin bushings added at some point I don't want to be out of a servo while I wait for it to be updated.

It would be cool to get a review done of it -how noisy it is, how many volts are you feeding it, which BEC (internal or external, or if any) is being used, etc.

I ordered the Evo P2 last night. He said they are in stock in Oregon. It's half the cost of the ProModeler servo and has plenty of torque for my 7 pound Ascender. It also looks much better. Obviously looks aren't a huge deal with a servo, but the black will hide better in photos than the raw aluminum case.

I'm certainly willing to get the P2 instead of the Promodeler if the reviews are really good. Cost does matter to me...To an extent, but sometimes with servos you gotta pay for the really good ones!

I have been waiting on a promodeler for a while now. Im about tired of waiting to be honest.

So is John, he had major back issues, but should be available shortly I'm told.
I still like the 450 or so, and for the extra 50 is good value. My wraith is fine with the savox 1256tg but I like more with the weights up front

I get he wasnt well and thats fine.
I think he was out before he had health issues.
I get it and I will probably still buy one when they get back in stock.

He started production around 4/9 and said about 3 weeks on this batch. Unfortunately for us his 140mini is also selling fast so he switches production due to call. I'm anxious as the need is large as the servo in the wraith was robbed from another truck

Did you order directly from DS Pro? If so how long did it take to receive your items?

I did. Fortunately he lives just across town so it only took 2 days, Ryan is really good about getting product out fast.

On another note, the Evo servo is working great. I bumped the voltage up to 7.4 and it's plenty strong for my Class 1 rig with 4" tires.

The servo winch didn't go so well. I realized once I had it torn apart that it's a brushless motor (doh!). I swapped out a motor from a brushed servo and it works great now.

EVO P2 is also working great in my monster truck (Revo). Took her out for a solid bashing session. I know shes not a crawler (still waiting to get mine), but if it can run an 11 pound truck at 50+ MPH, i would say it should have enough to get a crawler going (also running mine at 7.4v). Still have longevity to test though. Hope she stays strong.

I did a bit of reading and it can be run at 8.4 for more torque (436oz), I was intrigued so I spent the $55.
Time will tell.

Evo has taken the extra step to protect these internal components from dust and water with an IPX-4 waterproof rating.

Good to hear that production has started on the promodeler V4. The other three promodeler 420's I have are working so well I've been waiting months to get a few more.

I'm predicting the next batch of v4's to sell quickly. I'm holding onto tax money just for 3 more promodelers.

It says production has ceased on the V4 and a new version is in the works.

I don't want to throw anyone under the bus, but mikemcE seems to have the inside intel with John and a solid business relationship, maybe he knows?
Any info on the on this model he's working on? V.5? Couldn't find a link. I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed and pray he emails me back when they are ready. I'll keep checking the site. Thanks.

Last I heard was on 4/9/17 that production was starting and takes three weeks.... which is around now, John will drop me a note he said. Also stickers are coming too.

Current site is ProModeler not Audacity
