I think what people need to realize is that some people in this hobby are bound to break $150 servos monthly while others will go years on a plastic gear servo. I know someone who blows up his Honda S2000 yearly while my mom's WS6 hasn't had a single issue. Do you use every last bit of performance from (aka ABUSE) your servo? Then pay up.
That said, I've had good luck with the PDI-6221MG. It can take 8v+, has a s***-ton of holding torque, and is fairly quick. HobbyKing has them, but I bought a pack of 4 for under $10 each. The only time I've killed a servo was from over-volting it, that includes 20+ years & many S3003's.
