What powers your SCX10?

My 35T Integy motor died so I replaced it with a ROC 412 1800kv geared 80/20. Had to switch out my FXR for a RS Pro. It was not easy to fit that big ESC in the little Radio shack project box with the RX and the BEC.

You made the right choices! What did that cost you, 300 or so? I have my RS, bec, light board, and receiver in a half under hood box. It's a tight fit

I had the RS Pro already. I got the ROC for about $125 shipped from Tower with club member discounts.

I thought about getting a HH motor to replace the Integy but that would have been ~$75. For $50 more I went brushless. Now I don't have to buy a comm lathe, fiddle with cutting comms, or replacing brushes. Hopefully with the Corosion X waterproofing done I won't have problems with water crossings.

Hello,
Mine is powered by a Tekin FX-R brushed esc with a tekin 35t brushed motor, I have a 5000 mah 35c 2s lipo battery (ROAR-approved) and I get about 2 to 3 hours of run time max, the gear set-up is 17/80 I think (pinion/spur), it is has a lot of torque with the lower pinion and brushed motor, so its a good crawler and It has Interco RC4wd super-swampers (1.9) to give it a good grip on the rocks with rc4wd 1.9 beadlocks, I can go on and on about the upgrades but just wanted to recommend a crawling system to anyone who needs one, Hope this helps,:) - axial 4x4 crawler

Need some help:

I run an Onyx 5000 Mah 25C Lipo with stock electronics and the motor and ESC gets pretty hot, pretty quick. Would this not happen if I switched to a NiMh or is it because I am working the truck too hard? I checked the mesh and backed the spur spring tension off and it's still heating quick. Any tips?

What gets hot, and how hot?

Re: Please list your SCX10 Motor, Battery, and ESC here!

Here is what I am running In my axial scx-10 honcho (RTR):
- Tekin fx-r with the tekin 35t brushed HD motor
- Venom 5000mah 30c 2s lipo (gives about 45-1 hour of run time)
- gearing 16t/87t
It is an ok set-up I am not really impressed with it but its ok for offroading, what I recommend is that you put a pinion on it that the grub screw would fall out, like mine does all the time! that is what I cant stand about it, but that's a quick fix with blue lock tight. - axial 4x4 crawler
