What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

TRX4 waiting on the shelf to get packed up for moving from eastern Canada to western Canada. Along with every other rc. Picture from early this summer in the +40C roughly 94F at gearheads in Petawawa.

Sorry I just now came across your post while I was looking for some info on Rusty-taco's trx4. Not sure if it's still relevant but if you're referring to the skid-plate that's attached to the front bumper, it's made by Hot Racing. Not sure if the skid is sold separately or only available with the bumper. I've been happy with both. The skid-plate isn't hindering anything/ doesn't get hung up since it's tucked up in there pretty good although I initially had concerns. I wasn't even gonna use it since it's removable from the actual bumper. But I decided to keep it since it looked kinda cool. It's doing it's job keeping the occasional rock and stick from getting any closer to the servo and linkage so I'll likely keep it. Fwiw the bumper comes satin black but the skid plate is bare aluminum so I painted to match.

It’s all good!

I was actually referring to the license plate, but I was wondering about the skid upfront too! Guess I could’ve been more specific lmao.

Ah... yeah it's aluminum plate but the graphic part of it is actually just paper stock adhered onto it. The edges of the paper started to lift so I used a piece of clear box-tape to secure it back down onto the aluminum plate. Tbh I forget who made it but i came from somewhere thru ebay.

Ok, thank you! I like the idea of the aluminum plate, gives it more of a real factor.

New C-hubs...after 360 miles there was some slop and wear. Some nice red diff covers to. [emoji846]

LMAO!!! This reminds me of my axles!!! I like the rounded c-hub. Doesn't hang as bad on the rocks. I have a new set in my trail bag if one breaks. Kinda wanna see how long they last.

Haha! I changed them out more for the massive amount of slop in the screw/bushing area. There was far too much play...but I know what ya mean the new ones look more obstructive.

New Samix shock towers, new proline 78 Chevy cab with back half cage. Also figured out a hinge for the back and used magnet mount on the front.

I really like what you did, PFongemie. Looks great. I'm thinking about going this route with a rear-cage on my lwb trx4 chassis and an axial c10 cab. I originally was wanting to cut the rails down but seeing yours, looks like plenty of clearance and nice departure angle... doesn't look like the frame rails would diminish performance. Any input or recommended accessories regarding the cage? Not sure if you posted a build thread but I didn't see one.

Finished up on something I’ve wanted to do for a long time today.

I have wanted to push the front axle forward on this rig, and today I did it, and it works *sort of*

This is how I did it. I first started by ditching these links(sorry I don’t know the correct terminology), then I replaced them with the 12.3” links from the rear I had spare from doing the LWB conversion. Perfect size.

Then came the panhard? link. It was short like 1/2”, so I unscrewed the rod ends on both sides to gain that 1/2” back.

Last but not least came this link(again, I don’t know the terminology lol). I put an 1/8” spacer behind the link so it wouldn’t hit the panhard? link. It still rubs a little, so I need to figure that out.

Thanks high plains drifter. The only accessories I had to get were the shock mounts. My blazer came with the inner fenders that has the shock mounts built in. I used some spacers I had on hand to raise the rock sliders level with the frame.

I never did a build thread, but if there’s any info or pictures you need let me know.

Thanks so much. I really appreciate your time. Never even thought about the shock mounts. I'm using the defender chassis for this one so I might be able to get away using the stock mounts. I appreciate the heads-up though just in case I might need the aftermarket parts.

Decided the body sat to high. So I redid the front magnet mount. Figured out how to lower the rear hinge and remounted the rock sliders. Had to trim the front and sides of the body but I got it just over 1/2 inch lower. Now to figure out the rock lights.

Does anybody out there make rock lights with spring clips sort of like shock preload clips??? Could snap those suckers right onto your tube chassis

R.C. means both;Remote control, and Rock Crawler.
