What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

Went for a little crawl in the woods.
Did some polishing and sanding on my sr5 grill and lenses. Side markers still need more sanding. Painted and sanded the grill 5 times but it still needs a bit more.

Went on a nice trail crawl this morning. Unfortunately I grabbed the dead battery instead of the charged one and only got 20m of fun.

Installed a GRC one piece (it's really two) motor mount. Super nice as the motor bolts to the piece that bolts onto the tranny and it has mounting holes for a fan. I mounted a dual fan plate as I use super quiet low cfm fans.

Went to my local trail area again today, this time I made sure I had 2 fully charged 3s lipos.

So this weekend I had an empty house. Finally got the Flysky 6ch reciever fulling installed and all off the endpoints set to teh servos. Then I hit a few spots. Ran a little over 2.5 5000 MAh 3s lipos through it. The switches and thier positions are going to take a bit of getting used to, and I need to figure out a lanyard mount, but I think i will like the Flysky controller. Next in live fore the controller is a voltage regulator and lipo upgrade.

A few videos from one spot this weekend:

And a few pictures from the same area. Best part about the area is the 10th scale trees!

Yep, we had a great Saturday, Miatardo and myself... "thumbsup"

...but I was too wiped out to go on the group crawl on Sunday - looks like I missed out, big-time!

It is only an hour or so from my house so we can venture that way another time Durok! Also of note they said that is not the best place in SA. There is a spot a little further west that is suppose to be better. We shall see one day."thumbsup"

Organized some small tools and parts to stow in the bottom of my battery tray. Tired of having to remember these little things when getting ready to head down the trail so I figured why not permanently stash some stuff on board? The Hot Racing TRX4 rear chassis cross-member has a couple threaded holes in the center of it so I decided to utilize one of the holes to mount up a spare spur gear. Stowed under the battery tray is: a 4-way wrench, 2mm hex key, spare body clips/ servo horn/ wheel nuts, several different length button head screws ( for servo-horn or whatever else), and a couple extra drive-shaft pins for my SSD shafts. I plan to add a couple more things like a couple rod ends, hollow balls, and a longer handled hex driver but for now, it's nice to have a few spare parts and tools on the trail for emergency repair. Everything in the battery compartment fits perfectly flush underneath fwiw.

Turned my headlights back into rock lights, cut the fender holes back and mounted them sideways.

trimmed the fenders back to fit my printed grill.

Sanded rear of light buckets to install mytrickrc super bright headlights.

Looks good Yama. About time btw. I thought you said you were going to save the Toyota sticker from the old so you had it to put on the new. What happened? Sticker failure?

Saved it. It stretched a little when being pulled off. GIving it a little time to unstretch. Will put it on before I glue it in

Tried to adjust diff lock servo because it was humming like crazy. Found out how easy it is to strip the gears in the micro servos. Luckily I had a spare to replace it with. Good times!

Flexin’ Friday

Back to the hilux bed instead of the cage, mostly for weight purposes. I cut the floor of the bed out and raised it up in the body so it sits lower. Content with the ride height now. Also finally programmed the mamba x to adjust the throttle curve and noticed a great improvement, should have done that a while ago.

Anyone out there using the aux cable on the mamba x with the stock transmitter? What’s your setup?
