What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

Do you have some better pic's from the side? Im considering the same cage/body on my new sport, but im not sure if i woud like the fitment (think it sits to high for me). Trying to do some planning wile waiting for the sport to arrive.

Anyways, i ordered the Bowhouse LCG battery tray, and the GRC one piece motor mount to start of the new build.
Got a Tekin roc412 3100kv and a Tekin RSX on the way to. Unsure how i wanna upgrade the axles yet.

I have similar feelings about the height. The fuel cell is close but won’t completely clear the shock towers so some trimming to one or the other would be required to get it lower. As designed however, it sits with the lower cage right on the rails.

The bowhouse battery tray is great, makes a big difference over stock. Please update on how you feel about your wheel speed with that motor and the single speed transmission.

Well that doesnt look too bad considering you run the smaller Swampers?
I plan on running Hyrax, and with alittle droop on the shocks, it might look pretty good accually.
Thanks for the pic's "thumbsup"

My #3 TRX4 came to life this week. This one started as a bare chassis I picked up from ebay several months back. It is equipped with a stock TX/RX, Savox 1230SG, TRX4 Titan 550 21t motor with a HW1080 ESC, underdrive gears, Yeah racing axle housings, all aluminum axle parts, SSD portal weights, MIP driveshafts, Dravtech shocks, VP 2.2 Method 105 wheels, 1.9 PitBull Growlers. Truck drives really smooth on my rock pile, looking forward to spending some trail time with this one. I have both the red decal set and the sunset decal set but I like it all black.

the all black does look sexy.^^^

so tonight went over to a buddy who crawls and we did some drenching(drinking and wrenching).

managed to wire up a heyok "the lighting controller" and get my vanquish lightbar mounted to my rollbar. had to fab new brackets from alum L so I could use the stock mounting holes in the rollbar.

when moding my front inner fenders to fit the highlux I lost the front rocklight holes so I fabbed up some light buckets from mirrored styrene and screwed them to my front fenders.
then screwed the front rocklights to the buckets.

rock/headlight

brackets

2 trx4's mine and my buds

got a package from shapeways today. a front grill from rcnerds and a 0v 0h bumper mount. I had a 0v 11.5h on my front and a stock traxxas front on my back. put the 0v 0h on my front and gained a bit of approach angle. took the 0v 11.5 and put it on the back so gained a bit there to.

before

after

need to do some polishing on these lenses

and some super fine sanding on the grill to get rid of the step lines

Put some Proline Hyrax 1.9 x 4.73 on my SSD wheels. Made a snatch strap from a shoe lace. Reattached the hitch on my rear bumper & made a receiver for my snatch rope. Getting prepared for my first comp on Sunday

RC ADHD,

Still have not gotten the servos lined out on the Flysky trans/receiver combo, but it should happen this week as I am home alone. Instead of working on that I went for an evening crawl with a biddy and his Ascender. We ended up on a small outcrop of rock near a creek after an unintentional change of plans. It was not a huge area but provided a few hours of trying different lines some more challenging than others.

On a side note my last "mods" to my simpleton Bronco were an oil change on the shocks (team associated 30wt), and setting the diff lock switch to Rear only, Both, Front only. I am loving these changes. I can do donuts on loose surfaces with out rolling now, I also seem to have way fewer tips and flips than previously, though this could be increasing my driver mod skill points from more and more driving.

We waited to the last minute to stop for some photos.

Got some more shock oils to try out (losi 20 and 25 and team associated 10). Ordered the hot racing high clearance steering rod. and got the trx4 a friend

Update: got the high clearance rod installed. Much more clearance and improved my steering radius after resetting end points. I had to use the stock rod ends though because the hot racing ones wouldn’t fit with the Samix brass, they were too thick.

Fabricated a factory antenna and started modifying a high-rise dual carb for the Bronco today... Obviously this wouldn't typically be seen on a full size crawler but I really dig the Bob Chandler vibe so why not?
