What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

Don’t have my sport kit yet, but i bought it an HW1080 and Holmes Trailmaster Sport 550 21T.

I have a Puller Pro 540 BL 2700kV that i bought for my Rock Rey but may put it in the TRX4 depending how things go.

I love the look of that sport body B-MOW, I may have to do something with mine when I get it, plan to run the 67 C10 body but I may paint this up as well and swap occasionally.

That's what I've been doing Kincer. Sport body when I wanna thrash the rig a bit harder on the rocks, Commanche body when I'm going for scale and trailing. "thumbsup"

The Sport body has actually grown on me a bit now. I did not care for it all when I first got the rig, but they can be made to look pretty good with some paint, trimming, and mods. Like B-MOW's, they definitely look better with clear windows as well!

Yes that's the plan, I didn't care for these Sport bodies at all til I saw yours and now B-MOWS.

Same. Now I’m actually excited for the sport body in the kit since it comes with the light buckets/grill and the other accessories.

Trucks are looking good dudes!

Hey, thanks!

Honestly, when the Sport first came out I thought the bodies looked big and bulky and very ugly. After seeing a few painted with cool paint schemes with clear windows, I began to like them a little better.

Yesterday was the first run with the Sport body and I have to say I now love it! It fits low and tight and I was able to squeeze in and out of rocks really well. The only hang ups were with the stock bumpers, but that is an easy fix.

One thing that I forgot to mention was the stock tires. A couple months ago I cut and siped them hoping that it would help with the grip. Well, they did outstanding! I was shocked at how well they performed. I would definitely recommend taking the time to mod these tires.

Hey Brian - Can you post a pic of how you siped your tires? I've honestly been very impressed with mine as well since I spooned in the CI foams and vented. But, if I can get even better performance with some siping I'm down!

Here is the best pic I have at the moment. I cut the little center lug out and used a Dremel to put slits in the other lugs.

I haven't had a chance to swap out foams, so I am still using the stock foams.

Nice - Thanks Brian! That should keep me busy this coming weekend. Adding CI foams made a night and day difference for me. Comp cut inners with medium outers out back, soft outers up front.

Built my sport kit this weekend

Looks nice at RCAddiction. That said, I think you're doing yourself a disservice running the generic "Swamper Rocks Tyre" versus the Canyon Trail tires. I've run that same set, and overall, they're ok, but the Canyon Trails are far better in pretty much any terrain.

Canyon Trails are indeed very nice tires. They are so wide! It was hard for me to remove a pretty thick tire for ones much skinner ones.

The bummer is, the canyons dont seem to mate to most of my bead locks very well.

They pull right out of my RC4WD wagon rims. And they seem to bulge out of the ring on my amazon beadlocks at some point or the other.

Id wish the other tires manufactures would make some as wide as the canyons.

Picked up a DS3225 servo to wrap up my budget build. Bought the HW1080/Holmes Trailmaster yesterday. Also grabbed a used hacked GT3C and Rx on here.

Where are these pics????

I was going to replace the body straight away, but it is pretty compact and well detailed so might be worth a shot for rock crawling.

Look at B-MOW71 and mewalsh100 builds they are sweet!

"thumbsup" B-MOW71! "thumbsup"

Since the "Likes" function has been disabled on the forum (at least for now, seemingly) - I will force my sometimes lazy fingers to post up that your siping job is the best I have ever seen on any RC tire.

I am very picky about tire tread designs, having a pretty severe rubber fetish (shut up guys...) and normally just can't deal with the Canyon Trail tires - but they look FINE done up all sipey-like!

That must have taken some real patience and a steady hand.

Major props!

This one is primarily for my 6 year old son to drive when we go out. I just received my TRX-4 chassis kit in the mail today and it will be using a good set of tires. I had these in the box of misc stuff and he chose them.
