What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

Added some golden sweetness.. Seems to be cursed though...

Ordered a Comanche body and a set of Landmines, as my cut canyon trails are pretty much rounded out and kinda stiff.

Already have a fitting set of wheels for the Jerp:

Finally flipped my bumper mounts, added rock slider spacers and trimmed the body!

I finally flipped the rear and trimmed the body last month. Major departure angle improvement

ETA - looking at that last picture, lol, I’ve got to clean that up better.

Nice!!! Shiny!!!

Did you already have brass or is this all at once?

All at once, have a lot of weight up top that I need to compensate for ;D
The Injora D110 hardbody is 1.85kg/4.1lbs with the roll bar/roof rack.
Also did the pen spring mod, which helped alot on steep angles.

New hubs showed up for my new to me SSD Assassins and new Pro-Line Predator Trenchers and dual stage foams.

Ran into a snag, for whatever reason, with wheel fitment and my front SSD portal brass. The wheel was contacting the little hump on top. So I took a raker file to it.

A few passes later , we are in business.

Now it’s out to my slick granite rocks for a shakedown of the new tires.

These are amazing for not even “broke in” brand new tires and foams. I mean AMAZING!

My Predator Hyraxes do very well on my rocks but actually slide here and there on the slick granite. While not brand new, they are not shot by any means and do better than my Landmines.

The Predator Trenchers are above and beyond the Hyraxes. The compound and the tread pattern equals solid solid win for me and my granite walls.

Normally this rock will get the rig sliding when transitioning from the red but you can drive out.

Trenchers stuck it!!!!

When going backwards and stopping the truck would usually keep sliding a bit because of traction.

The big red rock before the big white one is bar non the slickest rock in all my walls. I’ve had the truck just slide right off when stopped. Again the Trenchers nailed it.

I have never ever ever shot this line before with the hyraxes. I consistently did it with the Trenchers and actually went up and over a few times. Amazing. As luck would have it, when I realized I should film this, my touch tooo small SSD front driveshaft came apart as I was heading up and out.

Speaking of the front driveshaft. The stock one would bind and chatter when the front was fully extended. So, I got the SSD front driveshaft because of operating at 50 degrees. That being said, it’s a bit too short with my long shock setup and will come apart when things are just right.

I picked up IERC scaler front shock keys a while ago to get the front shocks raised up and laid back. This really dropped the front down. So after dealing with the Ssd coming apart again tonight, I decided to put the stock one back in. So we will see how this does.

Long story short, Predator Trenchers are fantastic on my rocks and I can’t wait to see how they do once broke in.

Here on out, these will be only tires I get.

Brass rear portals went on, new metal spur gear as well. Stock trx4 motor and esc gone, new hobbywing quicrun fusion 1800kv 2 in 1 replaced it. New ESC didn’t even need the extra BEC but I kept it in there just in case. Super simple, a T tap to get the pro scale lights online, and I was chewing up mountains by lunch. This motor is everything good, power, torque, and super easy install. Wish I could play longer….bowling leagues start tonite!

I was looking at that Hobbywing setup. How is the top speed with the 1800kv?

Bought an i Nora body and it took some time to get the wheelbase to match the body. It was originally a tactical unit that I was able to shorten the wheel base enough to not make it look strange. Still need to shorten the frame so the rear bumper doesn’t stick too far out. Also looking at adding a light kit and winch

Installed slipper eliminator and back to stock gearing testing just for fun. To see how the pp 3500kv motor will perform at stock gearing.

Going to ad lights on my tactical so i can see outside with winter coming back and sunsetting earlier and earlier.

Went for a trail hike with my friend and his son. Here is the aftermath of letting a 5yr drive for a few minutes in the woods.

Found out my big battery won't charge nicely with my UP240AC lol. Started plans for how i want this to be built (2021 Bronco) as it's my first truck of this type (second really, but i sold the first one before ever using it)

Put the suspension in what i like to call, 'poor mans droop'. Taking the springs off will do this. It worked great on my SCX10ii, so naturally i wanted to try it on this.

Also took the rack, snorkel & front bumper off and replaced the front with a Sendero bumper. Much tighter fit to the body.

Looks good!

Interesting with the springs off. Have you noticed any adverse traits from that?

My shocks are slammed as well and I’ll get some hopping occasionally when initiating steep climbs.

Going across rocks it’s ridiculous.

I haven't had a chance to run it yet, but I can tell you on my SCX10ii it was one of the best mods I did. Because it was so light even when it did lift it wouldn't hurt much, if at all, when climbing since there wasn't a lot of weight to lift up. I'm not a competition crawler by any means, but the only difference I noticed was an improvement. I'm sure a proper droop setup is better, but this is fine for me.

My guess would be it won't be as good on the TRX4 with the heavy chassis. I hope I'm wrong, but I figured I'd still test it out.

Good deal!

Yeah that was my fault for not being clear before, I meant to say hopping on the rears.

The front lifting on steep climbs was pretty pronounced with mine also due to 110mm shocks, so much to it would start binding the driveshaft.

That’s awesome everything played well. I really like the droop setup.
