What are you working on??

Got the bug the last few days to 3D print and redo trucks, etc.

So I changed the Dodge SCX10 to the Jeep. Got rid of worn out aluminum brackets and just switched things up a bit.
The Jeep body has nice LED's that were flippin expensive, may as well use them.

Put some larger (Wider) tires on for the TRX plow truck. The small ones, I think, would be too narrow for effective plowing.
With the impending snow this weekend, I'm getting prepared for some fun!

The tires are off of my Rustler of all vehicles. 2.2" wheels and Duratrax tires.

Got the Ascender today! Holy crap this thing is quiet!
Ripped out the stock motor and ESC.
Put in a HH BRXL and a Axial 55t. Will crawl very slowly now, but still has enough speed on 3s. I'm sure I'll kill the axial motor quicker, but I'll probably run 4s as well.
Seeing as I have 2 small 3s, and 1 small 4s to fit the battery tray.
On that note, I'm not sold on the "Floating battery tray" idea..
I will try the stock Spectrum radio as well. The trigger is much smoother than the Flysky, I'll give it that.

Designing and 3d printing a rear bumper shortly.

I finally installed some lights on the TF2, not being a fan of fiddling with connectors while mounting a body I came up with this plan of attack. I isolated the custom springs from the chassis with some old Parma body posts and rings, we’ll see how long it all lasts!

Ive been working on the 1/6 VW lately. I made up some vacuum formed hubcaps to fit in my Gear Head 2.2's. (Final color will be chrome) I also got a start on the interior and dash gauges. It's getting there.

By the way, those are 2.2 Swamper XL's.

The SCX10 got some love over the past few days. 3D printed a CMS mount. The SSD axle housings came with the cms mount that attaches to the axle (I believe that's where it came from. I found it in my parts bin.)
Made custom length links out of 8-32 rod and windshield washer line.

It all works great. Very happy I had what I needed. I was considering purchasing the kit for $60 ish.

Pretty sad that this early into the deep dark cold winter season I'm already desperate enough to try once again to get the clodbuster going for some winter snow bashing. Hoping/praying I can actually put a complete battery pack through it before destruction. I have replaced all four axle tubes and knuckles with new pieces in hopes to get rid of petrified 30 year old plastic. Made braces for both top and bottom ears of all four knuckles. Doing away with one steering servo and going to axle mounted servos. Also bought a super cheap dual motor esc on eBay that's good for 4s so that'll insure destruction if 3s wont. I need help I think.

Tinkering on the assender, had to tuck the bumper about 3/4” so I made new mounting hardware and raised it about a 1/4” also mounted up some BFG’s

Got the original 1987 body back into decent shape. Leaving it like this for nostalgia I guess. Just detailed the grill and trim. Looks way better I think. Reinforced some cracks and broken bits.

That's the best way to run the Clod Buster imo. Back in my Tamiya days, we used to boil water, add a cup of vinegar iirc, and let the parts sit in it for awhile to add some flex to the parts, so they wouldn't just snap. Just dont let the parts sit on bottom or touch sides of metal pot and melt lol. :)"thumbsup"

Quick search found this

Made a battery tray for the scx10. Previously I had zip tied the stock metal battery tray to the frame / shock hoops.
This way is a bit more secure.

I might make a more refined version to put on my site.

Designed a new bumper.

Thoughts?

It has 4 different height adjustments, and will fit any width frame from 71-76mm which is Ascender at 71mm, scx10 /10.2 at 73mm, and trx4 at 76mm.
2 spots for 5mm LEDs
Winch fairlead
I'll upload some better pics later.

With the small tires, it seems a bit Mall Crawler ish.
I may bake off the stock Ascender tires or buy another set of tires. I'll make due for now.
