What are you working on??

Put the JK body with the blotchy paint job on the Deadbolt that's sporting 2.2s.
Looks pretty beefy, but I think I'm going to make some inner fenders for it.

Finally got the Wraith running again. Holmes servo crapped out on Bradbury run. Sent me a replacement, which was broken. So they sent me a replacement for the replacement. Weeks later and it works!
I think I have replaced almost every screw on the SCX, Wraith and Yeti with stainless.
Got tired of breaking my SCX10's knuckles. So STRC aluminum knuckles are in now. Hopefully all will be well for a while..

My daughter told me the other day that she wanted some sewing projects, so I thought about it for a few minutes and made up with some templates and cut some scrap fabric for a trial run of the soft top idea I came up with for all the new JK bodies.

I'll see how well this experimental unit comes out and make alterations from there until it's ready for a limited production run with some rugged material.

Made wheel wells for the Chevy.
Picked up another set of 4 Pit bulls for $35, shipped.

I've been working on my Wraith too.
I wanted some ballast weight as low as I could get it.
I got to thinking about it and came up with a way to make them work, though I would have liked another 6 ounces +/- up front.

4.25 ounce lead weight held in place by liquid electrical tape.

Along with a 12.8 ounce weight mounted where a servo would mount for rear steering.

I picked up some pit bull tires cheap. Didn't have any 1.9 wheels around so I thought I'd try wrapping them around 2.2" rims.
This was the result, I'm quite pleased with the looks. The stance is wider, the wheels themselves are wider, giving the tires a lower profile.
Can't wait to test them out on the rocks.

More work this morning. The Wraith links are getting little sloppy so I made new ones.

Rears for now, fronts in a bit.

Edit:
Finished the front, but my links weren't perfectly stock length. So my servo horn hit the bumper.

Put a spacer in for an easy fix.

I dubbed with the King Hauler last night.
I took the body off and removed all the parts that will need to be swapped to the new body when I get to that point.
I cut the ends of the battery tray off because the modern battery packs are about 1/8" longer than the packs from back in the day....
I stripped out the old wiring from a time waaaaaaaaaaay back when all the lights worked.

I found a perfectly scale driver for it.

Here's the back side of the hand made grille I made from the leftover 3/8" thick aluminum that I had from when I made the bumpers.

You kind of get the idea of just how much work I have into this thing when the mesh is out....:lmao:

I am going to need an interpreter. I started working on the yeti. To the point of mounting the front to the chassis. I have found its a pretty fun kit to assemble. Still torn on what to put in it for a motor. I have one for now but would like a pro 4 3-35kv

I always recommend the 1/8 scale motor i run for the Yeti.

Turnigy 2350kv $50ish
or a hobbywing 3656sd 3400kv $80

Powered by an MMP or a Hobbywing 150amp esc.

$.02"thumbsup"

Got more done on the tundra this morning.

Added lights to the Chevy. To not have the LED's sticking out of the body 3/16" I glued some foam to the inside for "Light buckets". Drilled holes, stuck the LED's in.
Wired it up. After the third time blowing my Amber LED's I gave up and used red in back and all white up front. Not ideal, but i burned up 12 amber ones. Must have been a bad batch, or my maths were off when calculating the resistor ohms.

Shoe goo'd in place. Tape will removed when dry.

I guess Robert and I were thinking on the same plain lol. Stretched some 1.55 Pitbull growlers on my 1.9's for my Honcho resto. Looks good. See how they work soon....I hope. Really close to the same size as the 1.9 race claws.

Had to cover the air hole on the inner ring. Too much water. even though they are plated. Still rusting
