Ummm...

Damn!! Those are some badass looking tires! I have never had a set of Beadlocks before. The Stock plastic Beadlocks in the Wraith Kit look quite easy - especially compared to yours!!!
I just hope they actually HOLD the tires on!!

That's almost ironic what you do for a living!! Working for the Government means that SOMEONE is always getting screwed... I hope that you can get into a contract where you get at least a little more security.

It's 05:00..... I can't sleep, time to get back to work!

Sorry to hear about your layoff/contract ending, hope that you find an even better new job very soon! Crawling and hiking around is very therapeutic. Those RC4WD MTRs on Racelines look amazing! :)

Thanks for the support, guys... I am applying at various other jobs now. I enjoyed one aspect of my current position - I was helping out veterans like my late 30-year career Army Officer father and myself, which made it more rewarding than most... The jobs I'm seeing out there pay better, so keeping fingers crossed! Got roughly 2 months left at current spot...

Got one of my last 3 remaining orders in today (RCMart - from Hong Kong!) - a couple Cell Blocks from CI to keep from flat-spotting my foams, a spare FlySky receiver (wow, a whole $7.50!), a HH Rx Bypass Adapter, and my one disappointment - a Futaba lanyard mount for their 4PV - it was supposed to also work with 3PV Tx according to a couple listings elsewhere, but - it doesn't. So, that goes on the Classified later when I figure out what all I'm keeping vs selling regarding my Ascender and Bomber vehicles. I'm bummed that I dropped nearly $10 on that item, and will need to order the big bulky $20 carbon fiber carrying handle instead - UNLESS(!) I rig a custom lanyard mount myself - which frankly shouldn't be difficult, and probably costs pennies...

I have an AsiaTees order coming with the Boom Racing rear Ascender shock towers (hopefully adjustable) and a Boom Racing aluminum front hood holder for the Bomber. And lastly, JEC Racing is making me a set of bombproof SS steering links (drilled steering link, solid drag link) with Revo rod ends, also for the Bomber. The Bomber build won't have anything else required (finally!).

I'd sure like to order the new SSD Brass rear axle weights and maybe the RC4WD Tough Armor bumper and see if I can modify the mounts to bring it close to the grille but not blocking the headlight.

That's probably all I can think of upgrading on the K10 - I do plan on messing with the cage area some (free mods) and then - just drive it a ton afterwards! Although, A pinion change may be in order after the tire diameter change going from stock to 4.19".

(Maybe after selling off a few things in the Classifieds - they certainly aren't necessities at this time.)

Well I hope things go ok for you. I'm a lucky guy in being at the same place for a long time and just waiting to retire one day.

I didn't change the gearing when I put the Goodyear MT/r's on my Land Rover Ascender, but have only driven it once. Probably will need to go up 1 tooth on the pinion just to get the speed back as it was.

That truly sucks! I think most of us have felt the sting of getting something, especially from the slow boat from China, and have it either not work or not fit!!
I'd say MODIFY the Lanyard. What have you got to lose, right? It's going to cost MORE money to get the right one - make yours fit!!

Well, Karma repaid me - so, maybe I got a lanyard mount I couldn't use - but today my ATees order came in and... the Boom Racing Ascender rear shock tower DOES have the 6 different mounting holes rather than only the stock location as all the other colors offer. So, if anyone wants to experiment, make certain you order the Gunmetal color option!

I like the look of them. Would like some without the body post mount for my K10 as it looks a bit odd with them on.

COOL DEAL!! "thumbsup" I worry about China orders, ever since it took almost 3 MONTHS for my P402 to get here from Banggood...
But that's nice. It's not often anymore, when you get MORE than you bargained for - especially from Chinese Vendors!

Atees (AsiaTees) and RCMart are very respectable RC-specific vendors that are relatively speedy. This isn't the first time I've ordered from either of them. They also carry items you can't get anywhere else.

For example - Yeah Racing is owned by RCMart (Dinball Limited, Hong Kong), Boom Racing (who have a USA warehouse for some items) are distributed through AsiaTees.

Hell, AsiaTees even holds G6 events.

One of the issues with Banggood is that they aren't aimed at the RC market whatsoever - Among the things they sell is women's underwear!

(EDIT - I really should have stopped browsing - they sell sex toys, too...)

That worked out very well. ;-) Tuning options are always a plus!!

....... I was starting to see the sex toys too! They sell JUNK, with maybe a few good ones thrown in.

I have bought some stuff from RCMart. Usually cheaper and quicker than US suppliers, but that's probably due to custom regulations I think. UK suppliers suck. If they don't have stuff in stock it can take days to get it, so I just order from Honk Kong/China based shops.

I've heard of both AsiaTees and RCMart for quite a while.... For whatever reason, I've never bought anything from them.
I should give them a try, they've got some really good stuff!!

Boom Racing rear shock towers & Vaterra floating battery mounts flipped 180deg and used as RULRs (they flex a bit, ideally I think eventually purchasing the Vaterra aluminum upgrade versions would be best):

Those shock towers look nice, but am I missing something in the pic ? I’m not seeing any holes to put the body post screw pins ?

You are correct, stock posts have the hole, AND the colors that come with the standard shock mount location also have the hole - see here:

So, good thing I have the K10 that has no need for body post holes in the rear mount. That may be why there was a running change done to the other colors.

(EDIT: I've checked the ScalerFab site for the first time in ages - before I only had the Bomber, didn't particularly want what they had to offer for it myself... but now with the Ascender, I am very interested in at least a front bumper with stinger. Never mind on getting the RC4WD Tough Armour and having to futz around with the mount! Later, however... giving my wallet some down time)

Also worth mentioning........
Where True Scale Modelers go - we don't NEED Body Pins sticking out of our Bodies, that often represent many hours of hard work!! ;-)

(BADLY DONE Back To The Future paraphrase!!)

OK, ...... uh, I mean, wow.

So - remember the Boom Racing rear shock tower "Well, it has multiple shock mounts but no body post hole" thing?

News!

I just got the Boom Racing FRONT shock tower mount, in black because I don't want it to be noticeable through the wheel wells. All images I checked for the FRONT tower have a single stock location for shocks.

So - why did I actually receive this?

I've got some Boom Racing 2.2 bead locks (Sandstorm) and a set of their 1.9 bead locks, also the Sandstorms. They are sweet looking quality wheels with an awesome finish, and BY FAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR some of the easiest bead lock wheels to put together. I would highly recommend them to anyone, and they're also quite reasonable as far as aluminum bead locks go!

They must have made a "running change" on the part to add multiple holes and just never updated the marketing photos. Definitely a win for you!
