Just finished my gmade r1 kit and the transmission is making like a wheel of Fortune ticking sound in reverse only, it is rpm based, faster speed faster clicking. Any ideas?

Could be a shitty bearing. Take the trans apart and look at the teeth on the gears, they might have worn out on one side for some reason. But being a brand new build you can rule out any kind of fatigue, so there is the possibility of a build quality issue.

i had a clicking noise and I believe it was the motor pinion set screw hitting the plastic gear. I also loosened the gear mesh and the noise went away. l8tr

Forgot about this post lol anyways, I pulled the trans and noticed it looked a little on the dry side so I lubed it up and it's quiet as can be now. I guess I was a little skimpy on the grease on initial build.

Had to fill & I mean fill the case with grease in order to keep the noise down a bit. As with my Sawback case I packed full upon initial build & then changed out the pinion gear to eliminate well over half the noise. Must be something in the pitch angle or cut of those gears that makes the chatter.
