Trail Honcho, For Trailing

I have been eyeing the new honcho RTR for a few weeks now. Looks like everyone is happy with theirs here. My only concern is the new axles in some reviews they point out that they are a weak link in the Honcho. Any issues so far with this?

Nothing yet. I plan on running mine until something fails. Running 3s lipos on stock everything and am very happy with the truck.

Oh I see how it is.. Sunday funday but no call. :( lol
I got out Saturday, snow was crusty so was able to get around but had to watch it cause if I spun it would dig it's self in.
I bet being stock it helped since weight is low.

Lol, it was kinda spur of the moment. We could try next Sunday?

We got to the trail head around 2:30 pm and ran till about 5:30. It got pretty cold up there...
My rig did the same, A nice crust, but if I spun I would dig in. Cory and his massive 2.2's could climb just about anything he pointed his truck at.
Love my Tsl's, They stuck lines I didn't think were possible, and even when I broke through the crust, continued to provide forward movement.
I really need to finish my F650.

I finally got power to mine and it is all "wobbly" as it drives around. Took the wheels off and checked what I could, then re-seated them and still happening. I will try another set of tires tonight but I emailed Axial anyway.

Ya i have the same issue. Its the way the tires are mounted on the wheels... I noticed mine the first 5 min out the box. I emailed them the next day. Still haven't heard back. That was on jan 4

My truck came with two tires that wobbled horribly.

There is no reason to contact Axial.
The actual wheels are not wobbling, it is the tires on the wheels. If you take the wheel off the truck and "massage " the tire, you can feel the foam slide around in the tire. Massage it until everything is straight, then repeat for the other tires, as needed.

Or you can leave it and as the foam breaks in and gets softer, it will center itself eventually.

Ya. I figured theres no reason to contact them. But wanted to see if they would respond. Lol..i saw a video that they only put like 4 drops glue on each side the wheel from the factory..so it's just he easier to reglue it

I doubt you will hear from them. I could be wrong.

Mine are glued pretty solid all the way around. The massage will be much easier, I even do it on my bead lock rims, when I find I have a tire wobbling.

Let me know how that goes, There is rumor started on the other Honcho thread that it has all metal gears inside.

I am just going to run mine (on 3s) until something fails.
I have about 10 miles on mine, with zero issues so far. I did loose a body clip off the front on the trail yesterday.

I made some brackets to eliminate the rear body posts in the back, allowing me to drop the front of the body 2 holes further down. I also removed the bumper lift brackets.

Crummy dark photo of the bracket.

And a little better one.

You know your hardcore scaler when you mount a dubro on the hood.. lmao
Like the ride height but not liking the front bumper now. Always something. ;) good work

Haha. yeah this rig is more about functionality rather than pure scale. When I get a fresh body I will be running magnets, rather than body clips. Until then, no more lost body clips.

I am finally happy with the ride height myself, but I did notice, I have to adjust the panhard bar. The front axle is pushed out to the right half a inch.

The bumper is a love, hate thing. Many love to hate it. I dont mind it, maybe because I like prerunners, and this style bumper was very common back in the late 90's. It is massive, and not particularly sturdy. But it flexes when hit and being sloped up it lifts the front up snow and logs.
