The truth about batteries.

I run venom power in my rigs love em reasonable price stable performance amd built quality

SCX10+MT Sentinal = tons of fun

I'll stick with my cheap Turnigy and Zippy lipos. If and when any of them crap out anytime soon, they're so cheap, it'll be worth it to short em out and watch the ensuing fireball.

I will stick with my SPC battery there cheap, reliable and all the ones inhale gotten hold the printed MaH and have lasted quite a long time. Also there one of the few who make a 5000mah hardcase 3s winch aren't too common it'd seem. But all in all Rc batteries are substandard cells that computer and power tool companies will not buy its just a fact of life.

No battery manufacturer I've used has been perfect. I don't expect them to be.

I don't think anyone is expecting any mfg to be perfect, just that they all use the same standards.

There aren't any power tools in the US that I am aware of that use lipo. Since they are the more volatile, least stable of the lithium options, they are the least fit for mass consumer electronics.

By the knee jerk reactions I see posted here (and elsewhere) about things not perfect, I'll disagree with ya.

Since we're posting our opinions about batteries here, then I'll add in my two cents.

Personally, I know Tim at max amps. I've told him I refuse to pay the price he wants for a battery.

That being said, I've also told him I'll be rolling in my grave before I run a battery of his too.

I run my zippy and venom batteries, only reason for venom was I had a killer coupon deal at a main hobbies for them.

Either way, we're all grown ass men who play with toys.

I like boobs, and pie, and bacon.

EeePee likes Pabst blue ribbon.

Maybe not real common in power tools, but there are several million iPads and Ultrabook computers out there that use lipo batteries.

Liar, but I'll still drink it if I run out and it's free.

Today, out of curiosity I discharged and charged two Max Amps 860 2S packs that I received for free from MA as a sponsored driver back in very early 2008. They took 762 and 763 mah. Not bad. I don't use them and I might do a yearly cycle. Maybe.

I am pretty sure Apple products use lithium ion batteries. Again because they are more stable.

From the iPad Air2 tech specs

Power and Battery

  • Built-in 27.3-watt-hour rechargeable lithium-polymer battery
  • Up to 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi‑Fi, watching video, or listening to music
  • Up to 9 hours of surfing the web using cellular data network
  • Charging via power adapter or USB to computer system

Those are typically the same people that demand perfection from any business, yet they don't quite comprehend that businesses are ran by people who are themselves imperfect.

Still, not the same packs. Don't move the goal posts to qualify your statement. ;-)

i still like this page when it comes to lipo c-ratings...
I can't read much into it other than a good reason not to set LVC to 3.4V/cell.
Nice to see discharge curves with variable loads though. "thumbsup"

The battery manufacturing process is by no means flawless, as can be read in this report from NTSB (regarding Boeing Dreamliner battery fires). Even when Yuasa manufacture batteries that lives depend on they use(d) substandard processes.

SMC is no different than others as we also use inflated C rates as we have no choice.

As a newbie here, I would appreciate SMC issued it out, but it definitely confused world. there is one thing right, they did have no choice, I believe that, every brand will higher theirs C rate although it is fake and get more money, It is a kind of competition.

But is there any story behind this battery thread ? what will happen ?
TURE 100C rating Max amps will be killed. :lmao::lmao:

For my crawly/bashy toys, ill stick w the Turnigy batts.... I have a 5800 2s, 30-60c with well over a hundred cycles....it even spent several months in my sc race vehicles.... Still takes almost the full 5800, w great IR. Great batts for the cost!

Now, in my race vehicles (1/8 ebuggy) I run the pro match batteries. Great prices, performance, and customer service. Everything I look for in a big race battery.
