It all comes down to the materials used in Lipo chemistry. There are various grades of metals, compounds, chemicals according to purity and prices vary according to their grade. When chinese factories want to make a profit in competetive market and they know the customer is not going to send it for a chemical analysis they get pretty sure to take a way that increases their profits unethically. The result is poor choises of materials and hence a poor quality battery. Another way for poor quality is when the bulk buyer asks manufacturers for a high profit product.
The manufacturing sector has its own issues. The supply chain has its own issues. The customer gets issues because the manufacturers and supply chain had issues.Unethical business practices ruin a customers day.
Ever wondered why most of those mass manufactured crap fail in our day to day life? How much money we spend on them every time they break? Remember those old days when consumer products would just not fail. Where did those manufacturers go that made quality products and who had customers gain in mind? It is a sorry state in todays world that people who are honest in their business practices get run over by the outnumbered dishonest ones that have nothing in their mind other than profit making for themselves.
I can tell you exactly where the Quality products have went and why. We as americans want it all. We want things and we want them cheap. with the internet we can shop golobaly and everyone doesn't think twice about finding the cheapest deal. that runs what used to be made here in America and quality products has went overseas because no one wants to pay the money for quality they just want the product and they want it cheap. Same goes for having things in your own town people complain about their town not having this or that but they drive elsewhere or get It offline because its cheaper then local stores close. before our local hobby shop closed I bought everything there even when they had to order it was it a little more expensive? sure but it helps them stay there for a place to get things now. since it closed I have to order everything or drive two hours and it sucks.
We have ran that stuff to inexistence because of wanting things cheap. and cheap comes at a cost and that cost is quality
Walmart started this shit! They put into motion a snowball effect that is going to engulf peoples power. They have systematically put out of business the people who poured passion and dedication into their work.
The saddest part is the loss of those small businesses and the people associated with them that specialised in making their quality product.

American Manufacturers : $800 MILLION dollar item completely built with the lowest bidder parts.
Not necessarily. Walmarts motto is "live better" and they allow people to do just that. Sure a lot of their products are made outside of the USA but the same goes for every single store you find in this country. Walmart receives a lot of hate simply because they are the biggest retailer for the same stuff as everyone else. They are also a non union company so there is a large amount of hatred for that as well.
Why should someone buy a $50 max amps battery when a $9 turnigy will do the exact same thing?

…and cheap batteries can work.
That's all there is to know.
Yep......There is supposedly only three manufacturing sites for lipo cell plates, all in china. So chances are that the lipo cells we get whether they are cheap or expensive most likely come from the same place. And yes the bigger names here repackage them and sell them at a higher price. Now quality control does weigh in on this. So if a 12 yr old is assembling my battery for a bowl of rice and it is only costing me $9...........then so be it lol.Yup it's a simple one to summarize. In 99% of cases what separates a cheap battery and a supposed top of the line battery is the packaging and price.
Well I heard that directly from the 12 yr old who assembled my batteries .Three people in this thread have said different things about how many lipo factories there are.
