The Official Road Bike/Cycling Thread

Tried a new route this evening leaving straight from the house. More climbing than my legs wanted after yesterday, but a great loop for building them up though. Set a new top speed PR for my road bike too. I think that's the speed I was going when I almost hit the giant mower that was mowing the road shoulders. SOB swung right out in front of me as I was going to pass him. Glad I opted for discs on the new road bike.

A few of the guys I coach are training for the Shenandoah 100. Went on a endurance training ride with them, and man the heat killed me. Even stopped sweating for a while. Guess I didn't drink enough...

Dang, now that's a ride! "thumbsup"

I dig that Surly!

I reluctantly agreed to lead tonight's road ride due to not having much seat time this year, and it turned out to be my strongest yet this season, go figure. Still pushing hard, and seeing improvement every ride. Made some climbs in the big ring tonight for the first time ever. Good stuff, taking the SS fattie to Tsali tomorrow. "thumbsup"

Damn, that was RPP style freaky fast delivery!
Ordered Sunday night and was in my friends shop this afternoon.
Just finished the build... and rode around the block a few times.
I'm in love. :D

Got in a road ride today with a friend, cooled off in the falls for a bit. Garmin went bonkers again, starting to think all Garmins are junk shit, that's my second one that records my rides half the time without screwing it up.

I've been riding a LOT lately. It's been hot as shit here (100+ for the last few weeks), but that hasn't deterred me.

I went on a night ride of some of the new hike and bike trails that maneuver through Houston....lots of fun!

I also did a sprint triathlon with this bike in June. Those are quite fun!"thumbsup"

In September I am headed to Boulder, Colorado and will be doing a Bike and Beers tour. Should be lots of fun!!

Did 20 miles today... it was my first long distance ride in about 20 years.
I felt pretty good throughout it.
Had a lot of headwind and it was 90 degrees so that kinda sucked.
The Surly feels great though. "thumbsup"

Water bottle is upside down.

Looks like you got your chain all crossed up, too.

Got out for a really fun ride over the weekend. Plenty of climbing and some gravel road! It was a bit of a twist on a route that I commonly do.

A few pics I snapped during an hour long ride while my gf was getting fitted to her Pacer.
I watched some the end of the fitting, pretty interesting stuff but a bit pricey for my use.
She's training for a century ride and is having hip pain so hopefully this helps.

Northwestern Campus. Chicago in the background... 15 or so miles away.

Made a goal I set for this year today, finally conquered a climb that's eluded me. It's just under 5 miles, and 1,500 ft of climbing, classed as a CAT2 climb. You do get about 2.5 miles of CAT 4 climbing as a warm up just before though . Got another climb to conquer on Sunday if all goes well.

I was pretty excited to say the least

For my birthday, my wife got me a Bike and Beers trip to Boulder. I leave next Saturday. It should be a lot of fun!!

^^Nice, I'm jealous Jeremy!

Group ride day, still feeling the weekend's MTBing in the legs too. And the Garmin still sucks, shows Sunday for this ride. Hell, I was in Pisgah Sunday. Stupid Garmbage.
