The next Scale 4x4 Event in Augusta Georgia

I think the scale guys are going to do the rti on a 20 degree ramp. If i'm not mistaken its your wheel base divide by the distance you travel up the ramp. The whole thing is to keep people that ran there rig in the 2.2 comp from running in the scale class. There was a guy that had a yellow tuber that ran the comp class then won the scale class with the same truck

hey there

You mean the highly detailed swamp buggy, with lights, spare, full interior, gas cans, tools and real beadlocs?

I think that was mine, LOL.

So a RTI of 500 at 20 degrees ,with a 12" wheelbase, is one tire 2.18" of the ground. A 30 degree RTI ramp would give you 3.46", that seems a little better.

Someone needs, please, to clearify this and the winching rules because I need to finish my rig for Augusta this Friday, because on Saturday is our clubs last qualifier for the nationals and Sunday till the start of Augusta, I have to work (I travel for work).

I have to find time to work on Team DP.

How many people do we have signed up now?

Jia, can I rent one of your rides for the event:lol:

Is the comp going to be held like the last one? Running comp 2.2 and scale 2.2 on Sat. Then 1.9 on Sunday.

Im just coming down for the day on Saturday.

re: RTI

the rules state;

The scoring method is as follows: Vertical distance traveled up the scale (measured from the ground to the wheel nut) divided by wheelbase multiplied by 1000.

If the scale truck runs a complete rigid chassis with 2.2 Moabs, then the wheel nut would be 3" of the ground with absolutely no flex in the chassis at all. So if you ran a clod body (aprox 10" WB) the RTI score would be 300. Again this is achieved with zero suspension travel.

Full size vehicles determine flex (rti score) buy using the 4 tire contact points as referrence, why are we doing this differently in scale vehicles. By measuring the way that the rules describe it means that a chassis that passes the RTI with a score of 499 with Geolanders, will fail if the same chassis runs moabs because the wheel nut sits higher, not because anything flexes more. This means that I would have to have two different chassis so that I can choose if I want to run moabs or geos, or make the chassis so that it would have a horrible RTI with the Geos, just in case I want to run the Moabs.

I would appreachiate if a someone who is in charge could comment.

Just bring something to limit wheel travel when you go to the comp. That way if they inforce it, you can fix it. fuel line or zip ties can be put on the shock shaft to limit travel.

1.9 for Augusta

G-unit. (yeah, I know)

A couple of poser pics as I pull it down for paint. Not sure if I want to keep the brushguard or not. The last two pics are with and w/o the brushguard. Whatcha think?

hey

Here is what I had last year;

It will not qualify by the new rules, so I am building a ladder chassis rig this time.

But the leafs were causing problems so I 4 linked the front too.

I'm gonna pack the Ranger til it won't take any more rigs. I'll have the whole BB-51 family (OG, Tea Bagger and 51R), the police Landy, the Scout, the TTB, probably the Trail beater, and the Healey rally car.

I hope my hotel room is on the first floor :lol:
