The Aalbers gang builds a trail.

Re: The ATM gang builds a trail.

We got the new suspension bridge set up last night. Everyone is pretty happy with how it turned out. We tied it into the birch bridge and looped it back in by crossing over the little wavy bridge.

Here's the little wavy bridge connecting back to the main trail. This little feature is so much fun. I'm definitely going to make a couple more of these, but longer, to add to other sections of the trail.

This is cool! Nice use of scrap wood and natural resources to make a playground for the little rigs!

Looks like a fun place to get away from life for awhile! Following along to see more!

Thanks!! :)
We've been having a lot of fun out on this little course during our breaks and lunch time.

Very cool micro course Jim. You have put a lot of time & effort and material into it.
Inspiration for many of us with our micros.
Overall, in your opinion, which is crawling this course better, the SCX24 or the TRX4M? Both look modified. Both are cool.
Pics are good... articulations shots! ;-)
My steering servo on my TRX4M didn't last one battery - Traxxas is sending out a replacement. Good on them.

Thanks for the kind words. Too bad about your steering servo but good that they are at least replacing it for you. Thankfully I've not had any servo issues as of yet.

Both my SCX24 Gladiator and my TRX4M Bronco are highly modified so they both get around the course pretty good. I would however say that the TRX4M is a little better on the course due to it's size, weight and larger tire size.

Glad you are enjoying the pics...I'll be sure to post up some flex shots for you soon!! "thumbsup"

Re: The ATM gang builds a trail.

The little wavy bridge was so much fun that I built a bigger.....much bigger.....one for another section of the course.

It's three separate sections that total 11 feet long when put together.

Here it is in place on the course. As luck would have it it spans the entire length of the area were we chose to place it.

We've got a lot of fun lines packed into this little area. Starting to look like a miniature amusement park. I'm going to ask my son in law if he can come here with his drone and take and aerial photo of the layout so everyone can see exactly what we got going on here.

Re: The ATM gang builds a trail.

We had some left over chunks of rock laying around so we added a short little side line to the trail tonight. It's pretty chunky and quite challenging. Tyler is heading onto the new section with his SCX24 Bronco. You can drive down either trail or drop down and cut through the little valley between the two paths.

Here's a couple shots for Maxxamillion of my Gladiator flexing. It has a good amount of flex but it's certainly not extreme.

Flexy....but not that flexy.

Spent a little time driving my Defender on the course today on my break. Looking good back there and things are starting to green up with the warmer weather showing up.

Not only does the new light bar look better it adds about 25 horsepower, better traction and no matter how hard I tried the truck just would not tip over....CRAZY!!

Speaking of greening up I'm going to have to do a little spraying soon to keep the weeds from invading the trail. You can see here that they're starting to pop up between the rocks.

We might have a new feature on the course in the near future. They're getting a big new cnc machine at the shop so they dug a big pit for the cement pad that the machine will sit on. There was a bit of cement left over and they dumped it at the back of the parking lot not too far from our little trail system.

This mini mountain of cement is roughly 5 x 7 feet and about 18 to 20 inches high in the middle. Wouldn't take much to add some more difficult contours to it with a couple bags of premixed cement?? Pretty sure that little tree in front of the Defender isn't going to make it...lol. You can just catch a peek of the course in the top left corner of this picture.

It's about 20 feet back from where the Defender sits to the mini mountain. I'm thinking of making a straight line route directly to it and looping back around to the left through all the scrub brush there. It's a little bit of work but we're an industrious group of fellows. I'll be sure to keep you posted.

Added a new brick road section to the trails recently. It's made of bricks with big gaps between them that are filled with gravel. Once the gravel settles it should be nice and bumpy.

Got a little tunnel under the bridge.

It also passes under the wooden bridge. It's a fun little line.

I also made some adjustments to the short wobbly bridge. It was to close too the suspension bridge ramp and you needed to make an 8 point turn to get around the corner. I bumped it out a little for a better turning radius.
