Team Carnage Crew's KOH 2010 chassis build

When I asked the Reid Racing guys they said some have done it but they recommended not to. Said it takes away some of the structural ribbing that's cast into the knuckle, looking at it yea I'm sure it'd make the knuckle weaker in some form. Me I just don't feel like hacking on a set of $500 knuckles only to take one good hit and crack it or something stupid. It'd be my luck.

Pretty much what I thought.

But then I keep thinking that they could be engineered to be just as strong without the arm sticking out.

They could easily re-design the mold without the arm but I guess their thinking is it's a replacement part this way. Maybe one day I'll weld a small re-enforcement plate inside the knuckle and cut it off. I agree it'd look better without it.

Looks nice we want video of the start up. Makes me smile just thinking about. It's going too be load behind you. As always if you guys need help let me know but I'm sure you got it covered

I have a question you guys running manual valve bodys or still auto?

looks like your starting 17 th jason. that should help i would think maybe less junk stuck on course"thumbsup"

Update is... Sat we fit the steering ram mount and a couple other things before we stripped it down naked and Aaron started welding on Sun. There's alot of stuff on these cars which means alot of welding. He was welding all day Sun while Doyle and I kept busy with other odds and ends, finish plating steering mount, drill new axle fill hole, swap oil pans, swap fuel rails, swap valve covers, install accessory brackets to engine, drill cotter pin holes in link bolts, etc.... I have some hex stock on the way to make lug nuts since nobody makes 7/8" hex 5/8x18 thread nuts, gotta make our own. I'm heading down Wed to start putting it back together. Cuttin it close as usual but it all seems to work out in the end.

Yea I read that, I hope it's the last one before KOH but I wouldn't be so sure. Been slacking on pics, I'll try to snap some as it starts to go back together. Lots to show up on the brown truck still but hopefully we can hear that exhaust very soon.

there closer than us. Where have you been joe could of used you here the past three days. Been welding about 8 hours a day on the chassis should have it finished ion the morning then it is on to the trailing arms and the axles.will get some pics tomorrow."thumbsup"

I tell you with having no work to do in the near future if I had the money I would fly out if nothing else I could help get it all bolted back together and ready for testing.

I am surprised that Adam's, Will's and Nick's new cars are all front engine I tohught the trend was going to go the other way. I have seriously considered a new chassis of rear engine design just for weight transfer and visabliity.
