Team Associated teasing a scale crawler!

I had 2 of the Associated RC10T2, could just kick myself for not hanging on to one of them.

I made a "space buggy" style body for one out of the front half of a orange KTM Junior MX fender and used a green nylon 1/8th scale buggy wing on the back.

Called it the Atomic Carrot.

Ran a Novak SS5800 brushless system in it with a Cirrus servo that had a clear case and Proline Gladiator tires all around.

It was my favorite R/C before my apartment complex fire.

I got my phone call... 8)

Now, I have to figure out if I have time to head out to CDM tonight to meet with the Enduro team who will be there.

Ha, I ran a Factory Team RC10B4 with that same Novak SS5800 system. I still have it, but now it has a Mamba Max Pro with the 7700kv motor. I've had it for a decade and it's never broken. I think I'm finally gonna sell it to fund a Tekno MT410 or something new on the basher end, the 2WD stuff gets hung up too much in my terrain here.

My LHS also called, truck in stock! Sorry Gen 8 and TRX sport, you're gonna be collecting dust for a few weeks....

I picked mine up today! Since these are in the wild now, what’s everyone doing to them!? So far I took the bumpers off because they hit absolutely everything.

LHS called and stated they have an Enduro sitting on the shelf if I wanted it, it was mine...

Extremely difficult, but I told them I’d wait a few more weeks for the kit.

I did go down and drool on the box though.🤣

I'm so torn on what to do lately. I built an SCX10.2 raw kit just before this was announced, and the list of things that need upgrades or attention is daunting. The stock plastic shocks have to go, I've already replaced rear axle internals due to damage and the front ring/pinion has got some damage too, the Panhard mount is like jello, and I feel at a disadvantage with all of these low CG chassis options out there vs the stock axial rails. I feel like I want to pick up a VS410 Pro or maybe the Enduro + metal gear set and move my Mamba X/PP2700kv over to that rig and sell the 10.2 as a slider. I figured my first Axial-based rig should start from baseline but there's just too much to worry about with pain points that are solved on a better chassis.

Doesn't help that I have the basher itch too and want to build a Tekno MT410 on the side. Those things ain't cheap either!

I also just did finish a raw kit with everything upgraded but the rails.

This kit will be for the wife 2s and im not planning on fixing it before the scx10ii........ shocks and axles equal in both! Stock Enduro/ SSD overdriven front, dravtec shocks.

Hang up and Drive

A box of parts. You'd think that would come out first, lol.

Me want kit too.

Not sure I want to go through 25 pages but is there any difference between the RTR and the kit? Are the links or anything upgraded on the kit? Thanks.

Full steel transmission gears on the kit, replacing the plastic ones of the RTR. Don't quote me on this but I also think it may come with all OD options in the box?I don't think anything else is different, hope someone else can confirm or correct here.

Shock parts, steel gears, and the links to do multiple wheelbases are the differences.

As to which one is the better value, that largely depends on how much of the RTR stuff you would use and how much stuff you would have to buy to get the kit running.

If you like the RTR body, wheels, tires and/or plan on running the stock electronics = RTR is likely the better value since the cost of wheels, tires, and a body or new electronics will quickly exceed the $110 price difference between the kit and RTR.

If you plan on changing most of the RTR gear or have a significant supply of spare electronics, wheels, tires, etc = Kit is likely the better value since using things you already own is vastly cheaper than buying new stuff and there is no use paying for stuff you won't use in the RTR

This is the best RTR I have driven so far! There is so much to like about this truck out of the box. It's super quiet, steering angle is really good, servo is good for an RTR, and it's not a pig! The tires are also actually pretty decent.

There's a lot to like even in RTR form. Time to start working away on it though!

I went out to CDM rocks today, and had the chance to meet some of the Element RC crew. Really cool guys!

im too cheap, i couldn't plunk down $400 on a kit and then still afford everything that completes it!:lmao:

try as i might to get a "really nice" aka expensive rig, i have these moments of clarity and think to myself "would i have just as much fun spending less to do the same things?" can i justify spending almost double just to drag it across some rocks?
i already have a fairly scale accurate build going on, time to just build a truck that WORKS and leave the eye candy scale stuff to the other rig.

nothing against SSD, its just a bit to steep for my pockets at this point of my life (10 year old twins and a 9 month old, about to retire from the navy... fun tickets are rare these days lol)

now as soon as i get a chance to line up my funding...
its there just gotta move things around a little. and convince my wife to trade me a couple gift cards for cash ;)

and yes, Ernie my "father in crawl":ror: you were right!!!

You won't be disappointed.

Thanks! I usually prefer to build these myself but might go for the RTR on this one. I really like the way the body and wheels look on this.
