Szczerba's 2.2 XTV

Totally missed this build, nice work as always"thumbsup"

Didn't miss too much. :ror: Just a belly dragging "cheater rig" as most would describe it.

Nice job broski!

I see that bandsaw is really working for ya.."thumbsup"

It has paid for itself 3 times over already. Opened up my fabrication skills (if you wanna call it that) a little bit more.

No idea why people call these "cheater rigs" if they are based on a 1:1 comp buggy.

In the real world, an Unlimited buggy will crawl better then a full-bodied rig. Just what people prefer, I guess.

Haters I tell ya, haters.

I dont know either. I've had it at two big comps and other events and get that comment quite often. I know guys are generally kidding though. I just reply with "you can buy a welder and build one too". Probably not the best response but a smarta$$ comment gets a smarta$$ reply

Losers always look towards the other person who had an advantage.

Winners are created because they look at themselves and strive to be better.

If I lose its because I did not drive my best. If I drive my best and my rig don't cut it. I improve or build a new rig.

Simple as that. There is no "cheater" rigs.

Your rig is either legal or its not.

I call it a cheater rig with cheater tarrs because I love trolling Szczerba. But he's my breh.

And because it drives like a berg

Bergs were cheater rigs once too, how's that work then?

Nice truck?

Yes. It's a nice truck.

Great fabararting sir.

My day is complete after a fine craftsmen such as yourself would speak that way of one of my junk piles on wheels.

Damn good looking cone dodger. The Blue and Silver really sets is off!! "thumbsup"

It is growing on me. Still need to notch the front Dinky Servo mount to fit the new HolmesHobbies servo. Been working on other trucks.

just sent deposit to machinest for exactly what it needs

I forsee an upsizing of a currently offered TSS wheel?!

I jacked up my KMS K3 Free Spool winch so I grabbed another for this rig. KMS has graciously offered to look an see how much damage I did to the old one.
I will waterproof the new one this weekend and mod the case a little where the spool and case meet. Line can get tangled sometimes.
Had an old mamba max that I waterproofed and using it for a winch controller. Losi MRC controller went to another rig.

Following Metal Masher's lead on waterproofing the KMS K3 Freespool winch. Actually, the design lends itself to waterproofing pretty good.
Painted a piece of styrene to block off motor area. e6000 it into place.

Truck did good at the Rocky Mountain Scale Nats. Not sure where I placed but had a ton of fun driving it.

Love seeing the XTV doing work! "thumbsup"

I'm adding rear steer to my 1.9 c3/u4 very soon so I can keep up with all the bigger 2.2s but more for a bit of fun. ;-)

Any pointers for setting it all up? Its on xr width ar60s

And for when the u4 meets come I'll swap the rear steer back for straight shafts and lockouts.

Right now I have the rear steer setup on my 4pks on a 3 position rocker switch. It is setup for full throw with on tap or full throw either side. I like mine like that but I could add "steps" into the setup and I could get a little turn with one tap, then more with another tap, etc until full lock either way. I just prefer to have all throw at once, some others dont.

Right now, I just have the rear servo plugged directly into the rx, as the front is direct wired to the bec with a Holmes bypass adapter.

Ahhh good to know "thumbsup" That's basically how I was planning on setting mine up too.

What servos do you run front and back?

Protek 170t up front and the Holmes BLS out back. I did have a failure with the Holmes servo at the event but I am working with them to see what happened with it.
