2010 HPI Racing/HB RCCrawler Nationals!

Hi Jason
just wanted to see if you have figured out how the refund for running all three classes is going to work, do we pick up $40 at the comp?

Thanks, Mark

Jason said:
This year to help promote running all 3 classes we are offering a 50% refund on your 3rd class. To take advantage of this you need to register for all 3 classes then send an email to jason@rccrawler.com requesting your refund.

Please note, if you have not qualified for all 3 classes yet you cannot register for them all until they are open to the public on August 1st. This does not apply to anyone that enters 2.2 through the LCQ.

From my understanding since your in the 2.2 LCQ, you would have already received your discount by only paying half entry fee to enter the LCQ.

Thanks for the clarification. The above example is exactly my situation, so that's all cleared up for me! "thumbsup"

not sure but that is not what the PM said, it said to encurage people to sign up for all three you would get a $40 discount,

because if i qualify for the show then i have to pay another $40 then there is no discount.

this is why im asking because its not very clear and everyone seems to have a different understanding.

im just going off how i read the PM "thumbsup"

thanks for the imput, just need Jason to clarify.

I paid for all 3 and paid full price,no refund as of yet. I figure that they are swamped is all. the event is right around the corner and they have alot on thier plate.
dont sweat it.
but to me the lcq is seperate.
thats your last chance to get into the group running the 2.2 class.
so if you run lcq but dont make it into the 2.2,and still run 1.9 and super
you really only made it to 2 of the 3 classes. but thats just how I see it.

I see your point. But if you do make it into the show, Jason may not have you pay the extra $40 (which would be your discount) ;-)

So as of right now, you have paid $40 less (half the cost of 2.2) than someone who technically is in all 3 classes like Rock Hard is above

I have not sent out any refunds at this point, I will do that soon.

To clarify though here is my original post that talks about the refunds.

I can't wait for September!

Note the part that says, "This does not apply to anyone that enters 2.2 through the LCQ."

People that are currently registered for 1.9's, 2.2 comp, and supers and are not judging and paid full price will be getting refunds. People currently registered for 1.9's, 2.2 lcq, and supers will not be getting a refund now, and will have to pay an additional $40 when they qualify for the 2.2 comp.

sorry my missunderstanding i did not read the

i guess my next question would be WHY would you not get a refund if you qualify thru the LCQ? i am putting out the same $$$$$$$ as anyone else
hotel, air, etc.

Thanks

Confirmation please: I'm in for all three, I paid $40 for LCQ, if I qualify for 2.2 via LCQ, I'm not getting a refund for being Three Class, but

A) am I paying the extra $40 to be in 2.2 mains? Or

B) do I skate and by not having to pay the additional $40 represents my three-class discount?

If B is the case, everything's running at zero sum and I paid the same as a 2.2 invite guy who is also Three Class.

Yea, I was following that and it seemed that for 3 classers the idea of NOT paying the extra $40 would be the same as the discount was overlooked. We'll see. Either way, we're all in for a great time, but it would be nice (appropriate) to receive the same pricing as the invitees for the mains on Friday and Saturday.

Guys, like Jason's post above states, if you are in the LCQ you do not qualify. He posted that on July 13, well before you could buy LCQ tickets. I also believe that's the only post where he states the refund for all three classes. I thought his post was pretty clear.

Jasons PM is Clear now that i re-read it!

i dont mean any disrespect but i would really like Jason to answer the questions that are asked because he is the athority.
there seemes to be alot of people with Opinions or "how they see it"
these comments dont mean anything! i appriciate the input but if your not jason or a decision maker for the event, your comments really dont hold water and there may be info you are missing or missunderstanding.

Jasons PM is Clear i missread it, as the post above states.

my qustion at this point is for Jason or someone who is a decision maker for the event.

WHY is there no discount for the people in the LCQ IF they qualify for the main event. we are spending the same amount of $$$$$$$ and should get the same oppertunity to a discount. "thumbsup"

The post on July 13 was uncharacteristically not clear for Jason, he's usually very concise and right to the point. The only mention of LCQ was in a different paragraph having to do with some timing of registrations. However, I just re-read Jason's post from today and the very last sentence is the real clarifier.

So I can stop seeking a better understanding about the lower LCQ price equaling the discount, and can now shift gears into going on record that I think it's a bit unjust that coming from LCQ makes you a different category of driver subject to higher fees. Once LCQ is done and Friday and Saturday get underway for the three class driver, we're all in the same pile of talent. We should be billed accordingly. Isn't the reason for the discount to push for more Three Classers? Invite or LCQ should make no difference.

Bottom line for me, I'll get the discount either way, because I'm not getting out of LCQ....

refund question

If you liik at the whole pic. Lcq. drivers still get the discount. I will lay it out so its easier to see

Qualified driver-

1.9-80.00
2.2-80.00
Super-80.00

All three discount -40.00

LCQ driver

lcq-40.00
1.9-80.00
2.2-40.00
Super-80.00

There is no discount because you already have it. LCQ drivers run a complete extra day of comp.. Normally that day of comp would cost you 80.00. So in essence you should acctually be charged 80 to run the 2.2 and you would still be getting a discounted day of competition. If you end up qualifying and run in the 2.2 big show you have essentially recieved 80.00 of discount before you get the 40.00 that you are concerned about.

Im helping Jason with several things at nats, though I dont consider myself on of the powers that be, I hope that this helps with some clarity.

I know Jason works a gruelling schedule on the days that he works (7 on 7 Off) So sometimes he may not be on right away.

It's pretty simple guys if you run 2.2 invite, 1.9 and super, then your only running 3 courses. If you lcq, that's a 4th course. You are absorbing more resources and need to pay for them. It's not cheap but nothing fun ever is.

Hmmm....kinda makes me wish this perspective has crossed my mind earlier and on my own. Might have saved me posting some sort of eating crow message similar to this one, but I got caught up in the notion that LCQ was a distinctly separate event from the Friday and Saturday shows.

This is a superbly expensive comp, if it were truly a problem of money, I wouldn't have signed up for all three in the first place. Didn't you hear? I got more money than sense sometimes.....sometimes.

I'm still getting three t-shirts, yea?

PS. John, you got an email from me more than a week ago...??

Option A is the correct answer, you pay an additional $40 if you qualify.

The post I made today was an EXACT quote of the post I made on the 13th.

In the end you end up paying $40 more than a person that had an invite for the 2.2 class. You also get another full day of competition that they don't get.

I'm still getting three t-shirts, yea?

Correct. I'd be willing to be you could get home from nats, and sell your extra 2 shirts to someone local or even post them on here and sell them for $20 a piece, and BAM you got your $40 back.

The post I made today was an EXACT quote of the post I made on the 13th.

There was an added bit after where you quoted yourself that actually was clearer than the 7/13 quote.

And you forgot to give me credit for eating a bit of crow and taking back most of what I said in the quotes of mine that you just addressed. :ror:
