I had this pile of parts building up so I decided to build a Losi based scaler for next years class 2 completion.
I have LNC axles with 21t HD gears in the front axle otherwise all stock.
I'm using a SCX10 chassis with bolt on upper link risers.

For power I'm using a Novak Goat 3s and 21t motor I had laying around.
I'm running Jconcepts Scorpios in 1.9 flavour on Gmade rims.
Shocks are whatever I had laying around set up in droop with pen springs.
It's now a runner I just need to replace the temporary links and get some weight into the tyres. I has the proline 66 F150 which is huge but I like the look of it.

I will be running it on 3s lipo. Until funds allow another Mamba Max Pro to be purchased. I'm using a Nightcrawler trans with the "Jens mod" coupled to Tmaxx shafts to get the power to the axles. The springs came from some cheap click type pens.

suij - I am familiar with the Jens mod, but am curious as to what size pinion you will be running - I'm working on a fairly simple LNC build with the intention being to give the "turtle-istic" nature of the Losi a speed boost to add some trail truck madness to go with its ability to crawl like mad

thanks for any info you can provide with regard to your gearing setup and strategy!

suij - also, are you doing the Jens mod by spacing the motor away from the mount and reaching the smaller idler gear with a large pinion, or did you grind the larger idler gear off and have been able to install the pinion on your motor without spacing the motor away from the stock position? - or did you use a combination of these techniques? - lastly, did you need to modify the motor mount in any way to get the motor closer to the idler (ex. - grinding/widening the screw channels and/or the opening for the front of the motor)?

Again, thanks for taking time to read my posts and for any info you provide!

Some pictures and more info on how you did your jens mod would be nice. Thinkin about doing the same.

Only problem I've heard from doing the jens mod is the plastic gears gettin stripped but not sure if thats from the mod or just because there plastic and they like to strip already.

Unfortunately I'm away for work for a few more weeks and I can't remember what pinion I have used.
I ground own the large idler and fitted my pinion gear backwards to get the Jens mod to work for me. I didn't have to do any other mods to make it work.

Thanks Suij! - when you get back, if you don't mind letting us know what pinion you are running, I get the impression that there are others besides me that would find the info useful - travel safe!
