Sonoma County Crawlers

Cool thread. I have a 2.2 rig with ax-10 axles, a stampede tranny, and the j2-tt chassis. It would be fun to get a group together and go crawling in our local area. I will keep my eye out for a good spot as well.

hellbentrodder: I also thought about Helen Putnam but I have not been their in a while so I am not sure. Were you talking about the main entrance side that has the picinic tables?

Yeah thats where I was thinking, Maybe down in the creek? Its been awhile since I have been there as well so I am not sure. Not really sure how the ranger will take to us being of the main trail? Gonna check it out soon as I get a chance.

What about the Grove? I know there's dirt jumps, but what about rocks?

Anyone know someone who owns, or works at, a landscaping co? Or rock quarry? LOL

The creek at the grove might work but from what i remember the rocks are pritty small. Jake, ill try to get my rig over there some time when i gat a day off. Maybe wendsday.

Well, they posted the info for the next comp .... But, it's below Montery! Sucks, too far for me on a Saturday! The spot looks great though.

It's cool they used a pic of Cameron's truck for the flyer!

We've got to find a local spot guys!!!!!

Went and looked around the entry to Foothill Park today .... No rock piles, bummer.

Anyone else have a chance to scope out any spots?

Someone once mentioned a good pile off the Channel drive side of Annedale?

Crispy: Thanks for bringing the rig by the shop today! I'd say it needs some work (especially the pinion angles!) to be really rock ready, but it's a good start! And remember, I'll give ya $55 for that Hustler any time you're ready!

I've got some of the new versions of the Sinaster's due in early next week to check out. Our crawler wall just keeps growing!

Sidewinder: The SR creek is a good idea ... I'll have to take a cruise down there soon and take a look.

got a chance to stop by Helen Putnam park today nothing really there at all. I guess we will just have to keep looking.

Just want to mention, the spots we have chosen for the Nor-Cal events are from people who have found them and did all the foot work to make sure they can handle around 40 people legally. The same goes for you guys up North of the bay. If you find the spot and submit it, I can put it into the event series if it is a good spot.

Looking forward to wheeling with you guys again.

Ok guys, it's time to show off a project I'm working on!

How about an indoor/outdoor course? I'm thinking we can set it up at the shop and have out first get-together and then a couple of comps!

The project is close to being done, maybe a couple more weeks depending on the weather. I did a little test run last night and it all should work out ok. Not all the panels turned out as cool as I would like them, the first two will most likely get replaced asap. They get better each time I do one. But, it's better than nothing!!!!!

Let me know what you guys think!

one more pic .... (sorry, for some reason this one didn't load?)

This is a ramp leading up to a table section ... (it's like an old wooden bridge, with missing slats, raised and lowered sections, etc ...)

In the first post, there's a side shot of the carpet ramp, which does the same (up to, or down from a table section)

Also, there's a shot of two panels, one finished and one white foam waiting to be cemented ...

It's been a long project, and I'm looking forward to an official test day with everyone!

Sweet. I had thought about coming up with some way of making either cement forms or something out of Styrofoam but never took it beyond a thought. Can't wait to see it finished and get some crawling time on it.
