Show-Me Scalers Offroad Club - St. Louis, MO

I've got great news, we are building an off road park, mud pit, and truck pulling track out in (40 miles west of STL) Wentzville, MO, right off I-70! The pulling track will be housed indoors in a garage and the offroad park will be right outside. The garage belongs to my brother and used to be a motorcycle shop. He also has a decent amount of parking.

We intend on being up and running by early March and will be holding a scale crawling competition, mud bog, and truck & tractor pull (pulling in association with Mid Missouri RC Truck Pulling Association from Columbia, MO). By late spring I'd like to start a monthly point series.

I may have to make a road trip for this!

I have watched your vids on youtube and liked you on facebook and just wanted to say that I live about 60 miles north of St.louis in a town called Carrollton,Il. I have a venom creeper truggy with a 80's chevy body on it. I have also read one of your post on facebook saying you might be at this upcoming monster jam at the edwards jones dome and me and my family are planning on going this year too so hope to see you there and I love your wraith and your vids. Great Work"thumbsup"

Thank you very much! Sweet Creeper. I love those old pickup truck bodies.

As for Monster Jam, I'm talking to the event director tomorrow to see if we can do a demo at the pit party. I have quite a few contacts from my time working in the monster truck industry. Normally it would totally cool to do it but being that I asked on short notice it may be an issue this year.

im down around the shawnee forest area of illinois. you guys are like 2 and half hours from me i could def try and come to an event every now and then. if yall are interested in ever venturing down my way hit me up i know of some really good spots to go crawl

definitely looking forward to meeting. I am about an hour away. I have the RTR scx10 Rubicon. I'm just researching basic mods for now to include moving the battery to the front, water proofing, and probably replacing all the plastic links with metal versions. Any tips / URLs is greatly appreciated. Our local hobby shop doesn't have much for crawlers. I bought the kit, batteries, charger from them. So, any online source thats great for scx10s please let me know. I like to support local retail stores when possible though.

SCX10 Rubicon RTR Upgrades ordered:

- Axial Aluminum Wheelbase Links Set 12.3" (313mm) SCX10
- Pro-Line Powerstroke Scaler Shocks 90mm-95mm
- Rear shocks get 30 wt
- Front shocks get 40 wt
- Hitec HS-5646WP Digital Waterproof HV MG Dual BB Servo
- Axial Aluminum Servo Horn 24T

Needed to finish water proofing:
- Thick water balloons for double wrapping receiver and ESC
- Extra marine grease in axle tubes

Misc:
Also need to relocate batter to the front for better climbing. Researching best practices now.

@ thisdougsforu - I am from Farmington, MO. I posted on your Facebook page earlier "thumbsup"

I can't make it this Sunday, but do want to get with you on the next G2G even ifs just a couple of you guys. I would like to see the progress on the outside crawler setup and make the next trail run.

Today's Supercrawl Sunday event is cancelled due to weather. I don't want people driving in all this snow and the track is buried. Not the fun kind of buried either. There would be no mud pit or pull track, and the owners of the land don't want people up at the shop in hazardous conditions like this. We will reschedule the event soon.

AGAIN, THE EVENT TODAY IN WENTZVILLE IS CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER.

p.s. 11am snow trail run at Bangert Island Park!
