There is a bit of a story to these pictures.

Yesterday evening went trail riding with a few friends. It had rained the whole day but it cleared nicely towards the evening. The rocks were wet but it didn't rain. So a good chance to do a bit of testing in the wet.

We started at 7pm. As the sun sets closer to 11pm we thought we had enough time to have a bit of fun.

Everything went as smooth as silk and we had some time to take scenic pictures.

Then it all went a bit messy. the sun was setting and we decided to head back. We thought we'd take a short cut because it was getting a bit late. Taking the short cut had quite the opposite effect than hoped because after a while we had to take a detour because we couldn't take a certain route. On the detour we encountered another obstacle that was unpassable and had to take another detour. You get the picture.

It was getting dark and we were getting a bit hasty in getting back to civilization. I tried to get up a nasty gorge and my transmission let go.

After winching my way up we tried to tow my jeep, but the transmission kept binding and halting forward progress. Even if I was on the throttle and the gears were crunching. So we took the propshafts of and used one truck to tow and another for slowing down on the steep descents.

It was close to midnight when I got home and noticed I had forgotten my keys. I had to wake up the wife to let me in. She was not impressed.

Tried to take a video of the recovery train but it was too dark for my phone. Just shows some lights coming and then going away.

*Almost* done shot of mine, soon as I have paint it will be wheelable. Have more upgrades planned but thats for later

Changed up my Rubicon a bit.....
