It should I run on Windows 7 32 bit, as long as it installs to the X86 program files you should b fine.

As much as I'd like it to come to the 360 or PS3, I think it's better if it stayed on the PC, you can do so much more in depth stuff on the PC than you can on the consoles out now.

anyone ow whats going on? when i click on the icon to play the game, i select the setting i want and click "save and play" and the a window saying "run the RORconfig program first" as you can probably tell, im not very good with computers any help would be great. thanks "thumbsup"

Its the same for me to:-( dont know how to fix it.

launch the RORconfig.exe
That will allow you to set the game up so it works with your computer better.
It should be in your start bar or on the desktop if not its in
C:/program files/ rigs of rods/
Launch that first. Then save and play.

And if you are launching using that then you what version did you download the stable or beta?
That will change the answer I give for fixes.

the only thing i have thats close to what you said to open is "rorconfig" and i downloaded the beta version. .. . thanks for your help

Same here, searched and searched and couldn't figure it out. Finally gave up and uninstalled it. I'll keep an eye on this thread and maybe give it another go if you guys find a solution.

Well looks like the newest beta doesnt work, the current version is having problems with the rorconfig.

You can fix it, but its alot of work.
remove plugins.cfg from your main RoR folder(make sure you put it somewhere on your pc first, you have to put it back after using the configutator!)
then open the configurator, it works now, but it will display no render settings, so i am not sure if you can edit the vegetation level. You have to see it yourself.
Now put plugins.cfg back in the main RoR folder. With rorconfig still open.

If you get another error loading mudfest or certain maps

i am having problems with this new virsion. every thing works untill i pick a terrain. a message pops up saying ground configuration to old copy skeleton/config/ground_models.cfg to my documents Rigs of rods/ config. i have no idea what this means


Double click on your "My computer" icon on your desktop. Double click on Hard drive C. Double click on your "Program files" folder. Double click on "Rigs of Rods" folder. Then double click on a folder named "Skeleton". After that, double click on "config" folder.

Now that you are here, make sure that the address bar on top of the window is like this: C:\Program Files\Rigs of Rods\skeleton\config

If you are in the correct folder, you should see a file named as "ground_models.cfg"

Use the right mouse button and click on the file, then select "copy"

Now close that window.

Open "My documents" folder found on your desktop, or your start menu.

Inside that folder you should see a file named as "Rigs of Rods". Double click it. And again, double click on the folder named "config"

Now that you are there, right click somewhere in the empty space, and select paste

I will update this thread when A more stable beta comes out. I didnt realize it would update 4 days ago and completely change so many things.

Sorry if you were wanting to just play this game without a hitch.

So here I am, late to the party yet again. Oh well, I was reading in other sections and decided to do a search (GASP) and found this. So I'm doing my civic duty and bumping this back to the top. There is a new stable version out, and most of the vehicles and terrains are still there, and of course, new stuff too.




So, if you are looking for a way to crawl in between comps, you can do it at home. Who knows, maybe if you get really froggy, you can make your crawler and do some testing prior.

i downloaded it and iy looks cool but its too damn slow on my computer and if you push to many buttons it will freeze up but there is some cool crawlers and 4 different hilux and 2 sammys and they even have a bagged s-10

Like I said, I was late to the party. Necro-posting, I like it. I figured it was worth bringing back to the top, in case some one is looking for something like it. (I think it was mentioned in the General Scalers, or SCX10 section, 1nsane was also mentioned, but due to lack of support I'd didn't commit necrophilia on that one. )

Overall, pretty good. Easy way to waste time. Helpful wiki. And it's free, and let's face it, you can't beat free.

Try turning down some of the graphical settings in the configurator. I switched to the "sandstorm" sky, vegetation at 20%, and no water or dust effects.

NascarKeith, are you getting any sort of error messages when you try to launch it. You will need to run the configurator prior to playing the game. That was the first error I got, Error 9 or 6. The other error I got was Error 6 or 9, and was due to the fact that I was missing an DirectX 9 component. If you allow the program to direct you to the webpage it suggests, the wiki is really good about getting you rolling, either over rocks, or end over end.

Let me know what problems you have, both of you, and I will see what I can come up with.

I toy'd with the setting for a bit but not much luck. It runs faster but once i get into a car its back to square one.
