RedCat is giving us what we want in an RTR. This new Fusion unit is killer and really needs nothing right off the bat. Hope this forces other manufactures to step up....the shock tune and electronics package can't be beat. Sucks having to always throw electronics, tires and shocks in something that is $400-600. Looking at u Vanquish Stance!

For a kit comp crawler unit Stance would be my choice, but for an RTR Redcat really killed it!

You really, really, really like your Redcat. So much that you're fanboying. But let's be honest, an RTR Redcat is nowhere close to a kit-built comp truck. Please stop trying to spread false information.

redcat hired the guys from axial and horizon and there quality shot up on par with others maybe not vanquish but better than alot of other name brands outhere

they still do the 90% engineering thing though but hay $100 goes along way to fix it

heres a side x side comparison i don't have ither but from the videos ive watched the redcat holds its own maybe better is some ways

I'm not saying the current Redcat is trash. I've admittedly never owned one. They definitely have the 90% reputation though. The Ascent-18 and Fusion are the only Redcats that interest me in crawling. I'd also give the RDS drifter a chance, but that again gets a 90% reputation.

I forgot all about the RTR Stance so that's my bad. That is only $100 more than the Redcat Fusion. Who is building comp rigs with Redcat axles? And are the Redcat tires as good as the Vanquish tires? Axles and tires quickly add up. The Stance has the better transmitter. The Fusion has the advantage of the Fusion SE.

Exocaged is a paid moron.

I watched some of this video without sound. Looks like this guy had durability issues with the Fusion. That just shouldn't happen with a modern RC crawler.

I know Element and Reefs got some former Axial guys but did not know Redcat did.

Most comparison videos are kinda dumb. The vast majority of the time, one truck will be more upgraded than the other. That one for example, the Redcat has Megalithics which are one of his favorite tires and the Stance has stock VXT2.

I also didn't know Redcat got Axial or Horizon engineers.

Exo gave the Redcat better tires so that the Redcat could win and he could satisfy his obligation to Redcat. That's my guess. For more legit comparisons on YouTube, the trucks should be stock vs stock like I posted. And the smaller channels with less views and subscribers tend to tell the truth because they aren't being paid or given the truck in exchange for a good review. Not that the video I linked is from a small channel that isn't likely to get paid or free trucks. There are also some channels comparing the trucks and they put the same tires on both vehicles.

I couldnā€™t stand watching 42 minutes of anything, let alone wanting to be there driving also.

Redcat has come a long way and nice to put some other competition out there for others to gawk at. Even in this forum people are liking or disliking something they have never seen in person. Would I put down the money on a fusionā€¦ not exactly. local availability would be a definite win for some. Looking/comparing at the specs side by side they are a close match with componentsā€¦

I think it is a great idea to have the Fusion included. Definitely a better setup than the rebadged Hobbywing 1060s and cheap 35t motors that most other RTRs have. What little I have seen about the Ascent, it looks like a way better platform than their old stuff. It is just not something that I would buy for myself.

This Redcat Fusion should not be overlooked.... especially when considering the electronics and tires it has and for someone who is on a budget. Who even comes close for the price..let's be honest. If Element or Vanquish released a similar electronics package in a RTR "comp" rig i'd be more inclined to buy from them...but their recent offerings are a downgrade from what they used to put out IMO

And what is it about their current axles that is bad...i'm not seeing it. I could see it on the Gen8 when it was released over 6 years ago

Look at the videos. The Stance and this Redcat are pretty darn close.

The Redcat needs tires. The Stance tires are better. That's $50 right there.

The Redcat does have the Fusion SE, but it can be had for under $80.

The Redcat has smaller and worse 3mm rod ends and links. The Stance has 4mm. That's why so many Redcat Fusion/Gen9 videos show failing rod ends and bent link threads.

The geometry is the problem with the Redcat front axle. It has no caster. Axles aren't cheap. The Stance has better axles.

Take all these things into consideration and the playing field is more level than it appears on the surface.

How many Vanquish Stances/VRDs have you owned to compare to your Redcats?

Redcat should've thought about the front lower shock mount. It sucks to take off the wheel and take the outer portal off. Just to access the lower shock mount screw. I broke a tool tip off in the screw. I think that's worse then Elements portal axle lockout.

Redcat certainly has come a long way.

There has been a lot of improvement to their platforms but how have they managed to not come up with a better diff cover? The Gen 8 came out like 5 years ago and their newest performance truck is still running that same rock anchor design.

Redcat has come a long way. But so has nearly every other RC company.

On Facebook I said that Redcat is a company that aims for a C grade when most others are shooting for an A. That does allow Redcat to have lower pricing though. Maybe Redcat has stepped up to a B-student in some areas. They are finally tempting me with the Fusion and Ascent-18.

Redcat doesn't seem to be going after higher price point RTRs....but somehow, they are almost up there with them!!! To that Redcat has a huge win with the Fusion. How can this not be seen at this point.

I hope they continue to improve their lineup and continue to improve as fast as they have been. If they do, then other companies will have no choice but to look in rearview mirror. Hats off to them and the new management team!!

The fact that they have become somewhat of a contender is impressive.

Maybe now they will give us new axles.

The fact that they chose to redesign the low rider instead is odd. That odd thing must be selling more than I can imagine.
