Training season opened! "thumbsup"

IMG_0777.JPG

Good tests last weekend. I found out that the 1000mAh battery is well enough for this thing. I'll continue training, when the new snow goes away. "thumbsup"

That looks like an excellent built competition Super.
I live in Norway and weather much the same here, but this weekend at last sun and dry outside.
I built my first Super this winter and had some test driving this weekend.
Will post a thread about that some later.

I have seen some of your driving videos on Youtube, excellent driving skills I would say.
One question, in this video:
Training with Super - YouTube
around 8:33-8:45 you are doing a very tight turn. What is the technique used here?
It is a bit hard to see if you keep the front wheels locked, or the back wheels
or if it is some other magic happening here.

Not sure if I will do any competition driving. Have not heard about any such driving here
on the south-west coast of Norway. Time will tell.

Good to hear, that there's more Supers in Norway! We need those in competitions.

In the video first I locked up the front end, and right after the rear. "thumbsup"

You should contact guys in norway. http://www.norcc.com/vb/index.php

New clothers for the super before Nordics tomorrow!

Performance is important, but size is importanter. :flipoff:

Hoping to get good start of the year with super! "thumbsup"

Looking good Samu:eek:
See you at the rocks tomorrow and I hope we Norwegians can give you a hell of a fight;)

First comp of the year behind now. It didn't go as well as I would've hoped. :flipoff:

P1010165.JPG

Nordics in Finland started with rainy day. Too bad cause the Sedonas did not have any grip what so ever on these rocks, when they were damp...

P1010409.JPG

This pic is from course number two. I did ok in there. Much better than on the first course. :lmao:

P1010707.JPG

At times the rain stopped for a while and you were able to see this beatiful location little bit better. 8)

P1010764.JPG

Course three. Really tricky one. Two drivers made it to the finish. I was one of those. "thumbsup"

P1010796.JPG

I have to say that Michelle did awesome job with those skins!

Clearing gate five.

Video corner! :ror:

<iframe src="//www.youtube.com/embed/FHv9DqsujzA?feature=player_detailpage" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" width="640"></iframe>
offipaita.fi Course - A long opening course. This practically ruined my comp. Swiss guys were able to drive this to the finishline, but I did not have the grip to climb some of the gates. Then I made a huge mistake by going for bonus two. I could've spared one and a half minutes without going there. Then the time runned out at gate eight. As ZZR1100 Racer would say; STUPIDSTUPIDSTUPID!!

<iframe src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ACmBQBsRF1g?feature=player_detailpage" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" width="640"></iframe>
Krawler Konceptz Course - Second course was way easier, than the first one. I had to take bypass on gate two, cause it was way too slippery. Good thing is, that nobody else made it either. Good course without the gate two. Fun to drive! "thumbsup"

<iframe src="//www.youtube.com/embed/xIpOncFO8lk?feature=player_detailpage" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" width="640"></iframe>
Team Ottsix Course - This was the tricky one. I had my nerves in gate one, but on gate four I totally lost them. There simply wasn't any grip. As if you would drive on ice. Luckily after many tries I made it to the finish.

<iframe src="//www.youtube.com/embed/45yyhPPUSIM?feature=player_detailpage" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" width="640"></iframe>
Nordic Crawler Designs Course - This was the course, that nobody finished. Farmertom got to gate nine if I remember right, but that was the best score from here. I was really struggling at the third gate, where I snapped the front shaft after I did some serious wheeling with it, to go up with speed. :flipoff: Then I just thought I quit. It didn't really leave a happy face to me. :x

Nordics%202014%20Super%20RESULTS.jpg

Here are the results. Manu was ultimate in this comp. That's for sure.

Supah.JPG

1.Manu 2.Me 3.Tom Swiss-Finnish podium! "thumbsup"

IMG_0916.JPG

I'm not too happy about my performances, but I'm satisfied with the position. "thumbsup"

Next comp will be the USRCCA Nationals in Rhode Island. 8) At least that rock in there looked grippy, so sedonas will be ok in there. :flipoff:

Will do "some" training before that though.

Defending National Champion rig is for sale after the Worlds! My plan is not to bring it back with me to Finland. I'll build a new one for next year and there's no intrest in Finland for this. This could be leaving with reasonable price in the worlds. Hit me with pm, if you are intrested. "thumbsup"

Okay, time for pre-race-chit-chat-up-to-date update. :flipoff:

IMG_0972.JPG

Took the giant out to eat some rocks. I had decent seven packs of training and it was going well as always.

IMG_0974.JPG

It's now ready to challenge the others in the Worlds next weekend.

Will do some more training on the local rocks of RI on thursday. Hopefully I'll be able to get good mood on the driving and will be able to defend the title honourable. "thumbsup" Time will tell. But as it is the last comp for me with this rig I'll make every second count and go for it!

That's a good looking rig... Good luck with it next weekend. Destroy that rig if you need to"thumbsup"

Thanks for that Christian! I didn't destroy it though. "thumbsup"

Here are my performances in video corner! Again I'll put the videos in the order I drove the courses.

Castle Course - (-40p)
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/rvHTpFjQZ_Q?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
First course with the super since the Nordics. Me and Manu made this one and it came out really nice! Not problems what so ever until the finishing gate. Rear dropped too close to the right gate and I floored it and took it. Other than that, it went great!

DCW Course - (-9)
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/mGTbyckXFnc?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
This was the famous world champ decider course. And suprise, suprise it was the worst for me in the whole day. All though I was one of the two who finished this course, Manu got 41 points better score in here. And that's a lot. All the gates from one to four went ok. At the gate four I had to make a new line and got one reverse in there. Then on gate six I accidentaly hit the upper gate. After that I went straight for the bonus to make that up. After eight gate I had only 50 seconds left and I decided to ride the gate nine over and finish. Could have tried it.... :flipoff:

Ottsix Course - (-28p)
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/slD1WKGwrtw?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Then came the game changer course. Manu got DNF and I was the only one to finish this up. "thumbsup" All the way to gate eight no penalties and nothing. It was going like a dream. Then one safe reverse to gate eight and then up to the bonus, where I had to do another. Got myself a bonus and gate nine and then I decided to ride over the gate ten, cause Manu didn't make it up from the botttom. Good call. "thumbsup" At this point I was one point behind Manu and only one course to go.

Futaba Course - (-40p)
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/YPb07Pud1l4?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Manu runned in front of me this course. He got the magical one reverse in there, so I had the chance to hit equal score if I would go clean with one gate. After gate one I took the gate from gate two, just as everyone else did. It seemed too risky to try that. Little bit excitement was happening on gate eight, when the front tire rised up and almost hit the gate. I managed to run the course without reverses and took all the bonus gates. So now me and Manu got equal score and we heard, that the score of the course, that is the last one in the scoresheet will be the decider. We runned to see what it was, cause realistically it was fifty-fifty chaces. 8) Suprise, suprise it turned out to be the second course for me which was the DCW course. And yet again Manu beat me. :flipoff: Still I was happy after all those fourth positions to end up on the podium as a second best driver in the world of supers! "thumbsup"

Pics and more stuff coming later.
