RC Scale Trail

There was a guy over on scale4x4 that had one of the coolest courses I've seen but all of his pictures are down. Really wish I would have saved them.

Couldn't even tell he had a scale course, blended in perfect with the landscaping

Went trail driving today in a place that looks like it was MADE for scalers! Nice and local. Thank you CrawlCrest and my son Matt for coming out to play today. Deffinantly an amazing spot that gets better every time we go."thumbsup"

It's an amazing spot. I normally wouldn't have put this video in the scale trail section, but much of the terrain there seems as if it was made for scale crawlers. Next time we go I'll get better footage of several of the lines we ran up and down some rock outcrops. Really great stuff.

Just started on mine. Suppose to be a group effort but I've been out there solo. I need to get some rock somehow. Live close to the beach and there just ain't much stone to be found. Anyway heres some pics

I'll update as it progresses. Thanks for looking.

Styrene will fix anything.

Holy cow! You got some great opportunities there! Where is that? I'd help....

Thats in Chesapeake Va. Your absolutely right, there is much potential here. Just trying to get out there is tough working long hours and having to keep up with my fatherly duties. Im thinking about going to a rock quarry and buying a load of stones because there is none to be found anywhere. Thanks for the motivation my friend.

Ok everyone. Looking for ideas. Rebuilding the backyard trail at the "parental unit's" house this spring. She's open to nearly anything. There is a feature about 5x5 and 3.5 feet tall in the back corner of the yard that we bridged onto and off of last year. This year can't decide to make a rubicon style rock climb hill up and off or fire-road switchback style rocky trail up and off. Thoughts?

Awwww come on folks, my ADD needs help deciding....lol. I'm looking to make the whole trail more rubicon-ish if that helps any? I've got the water crossing down (bridge over pond and waterfall) and I'll have some channel/crevasse style trail sections...just really stuck on this one area.....yes build pics as it goes. I'll post up some before, during AND after stuff.

thinking about coming off further to the trucks right than what's in this pic, and heading to the trucks left and doing a side hill fire road thing down with a right turn back to the ground.....thoughts?

DUBS, It's actually a tunnel...15" plastic culvert. The outlet is the wooden bridge in the third pic from the top. It's kinda neat to drive thru. Ya kinda just line it up, and guess...

Work in progress, but this is what I have so far.

EDIT: Guess i couldve said what inspired these trails. Reiter Pit, and Elbe Hills ORV.

Started clearing out a corner of my yard for a smale "test" course. Once I gather more rock I'll starting putting more time into it. Going to try and make to where you would have to take a second look to realize what it is and easily mistaken for landscaping.

It will be on the small side but it is bigger then what it looks in the pictures

Thanks to all who post picks of their tracks! I've gotten lots of ideas for mine. Living in okla I have endles amounts of sandstone!! It's not at pretty as river rock but free is beautiful too! Keep posting your picks please

Here's some fun my brother and I had over the weekend. We picked the hardest lines to film, most of which ended up being rock bouncing more so than crawling lol. Trails are still in development and got pretty torn up, which is good considering now I get to fix those places and make people stick to the actual trail. First rig was my brothers with him driving, second rig was mine with me driving, third rig was mine with my brother driving.

Onto the driving.
