Here Is a link to my build thread. Worked on in from memorial day to today. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/general-scale-talk/453215-new-guys-backyard.html
It's still a work in progress but its roughly there. Its a a build thread from a month into it. I will try to find the pics of when the first pile of dirt showed up. And if you all want I can post some of the better shots here. being a nood though wasn't sure if I should post the same pics multiple times

Well I have a small little course that I made, but it doesn't compare to any of the one's on here. There are some amazing courses in this thread. The attention to detail is incredible. If only I had the time, patience and room to create anything close to those.

Ok, so I'm adding onto my existing crawler course, but I need some suggestions for layout and obstacles. I have an area behind my garage that is about 5' wide by 25' long. I'm just not sure what I want to do with this area.

Below is a picture of my current course and a picture of the area for the new addition. Any and all suggestions are welcome!!

Current course:

New Area for additional course...this will extend all the way to the fence. Will possibly be moving the trash can/fire wood holder to other side of garage, so that will give me another foot or so on the width.

New course is started. Just a work in progress to get wheelin in moms backyard now but scale items and more realistic bridges to follow. I don't mind this type of yard work EDIT; have to get those lava rock out and some more suspension link friendly rock in. Lava rock tears the CRAP out of the links. Mom drives the course almost daily and loves it besides that.

couple additions mom put in. She made bundles of fire wood for all of us. Things are coming along nicely. I'm using square doweling for boundary fences next. After that, on to more scale bridges.
Looking Great man! you have a really nice space to work with. Take a look at these pics, might give you a couple ideas that you might like.

REALLY nice trail you've got going. Gave me some ideas. I'm switching from square dowling to rough split cedar for posts, and going to use bailing wire I think to create a wire fence type thing. A lot like one would see out in the land around Bend Oregon.
Water fall and pond is redone a bit on our course. It's ready for the bridge. I'll build it in the next couple weeks and post up some pics

Just getting started. I have two dirt/rock piles about 15'x20' and a 3' tall berm connecting them that's roughly 150' long. Plans are for a scale mini rubicon style trail with a concrete rock formation on one mound and a trail style rock pile on the other with bridges and a water feature thrown in.

work on the bridge across the pond has started! This is just mocked up but the deck is being tied down with twine as we speak. Going to add some "railings" as well to give the illusion of safety while crossing water....ha. Going to spray the whole thing with satin spar varnish when it's done to help protect it and last longer.

Mine is a...uh:roll:...a track of some sorts...

It was originally a racetrack for my dad's and mine Losi micro 4x4's. Now it functions as an Ultra4 track for our scx10's, a really small track for our 2wd 1/10 buggies, and is still used for micro racing. There is little rock pile in the middle for crawling, but it is slowly growing as we collect a few rocks when on trail runs. In the bottom left of the pic of the whole track, you can see a wood I-beam. That goes up to a table that you can drive across, and then drop down the other side with another beam.

It isn't much to crawl on, but it makes for good impromptu rallying. "thumbsup" (They are trail-trucks after all)

I don't have the setup in the next pic anymore, but it gives an idea for using the environment (and mom's garden boxes)"thumbsup"

Yes, you had to cross over to the beam from the right 2x4. Yes, it was possible (sort of).

Here is my CarterFab inspired course. My 3yr old son calls it the mountain. Still needs paint and some finishing touches.
