Thanks Matt and Martin, for the effort you guys put into this event. I think you guys handled everything very nicely, from the LARGE amount of people that showed up and not knowing how a new comp. format would run."thumbsup" I would have freaked out, but you guys didnt and by the looks of the smiles on poeples face in the pictures a good time was had by all. Props to you both and will see you on the 15th. ( Or sooner I hope)

WoW! What an event! I can't put it into words for my friends who could not go. It was simply - "Off tha hook" !!!!!!! You guys definitely put the "Challenge" in RC OVerland Team Challenge :)
I think if any T-Shirts are made in the future, there should be something added.
It should say "RCOTC #1 - I was there. It happened. It was off tha hook!" Because anyone who was not there will never know how insane the first one really was!

I had a great time judging for my two new friends, Rob and Gretchen. What a great team! And watching that Lil Sammi do work, - Priceless "thumbsup"
If I had to give an award for best winches, it would hands down go to them. Nothing like 20+ft of sturgeon line when you're stuck between a rock and a hard place! If Rob would have had more trans parts, I have no doubt they would've finished. Nothing like on course tranny swaps! Great people, great rigs, and thanks for thinking of us and bringing back the Taco Bell "thumbsup"

Seeing the woods "full" of scalers was just a dream come true to me. There wasn't a bored or unchallenged driver out there on course. Sure we had to wait at bottlenecks, but thats where all the action was at! Pure liquid R/C Adrenaline was flowing like the mississippi 8) .
It was also really Awesome to see Parker on the other end of the stick, enjoying someone else's event. It was definitely a challenge and watching Parker and Thom do teamwork, was great! Better build a servo winch Parker!

And my wife really had a great time judging Mike and Sam. Those guys put in some work! And burned a few 7955's along the way! She also enjoyed seeing two of her future winches (QuickSand) doing work without breaking a sweat. Awesome winches and they go great with a Rock Armor bumper!

Thanks again Martin, Matt, and anyone else who helped put on this official first RCOTC! Next time i will be more careful and do less rock hopping and injuring of myself. It's hard to resist because I'm a mountain boy at heart and have the spirit of a Big Horn Sheep Ram! I am glad that I was able to hobble down and run the last 20 or so gates for fun. And also glad I got to drive on that crazy Manzanita wood bridge that Matt made!

Thanks again Area916 - You guys rock "thumbsup"

I think this pic of the rock graffitti sums up the love/hate relationship many of the drivers had with the technical section referred to as a "winch-fest"

Here's what I caught on camera. I wish I coud've got everyone!

Nice pictures everyone. Clint I was Glad I actually got a chance to talk with you and Angela at this event but probably not if you didn't hurt your leg . Normally only get to say hi and bye at a G6 unless I really know someone. Did you get a chance to see the list for the raffle? I'm guessing your wife was the only Angela that competed :ror: Matt and I felt pretty bad that the guys who drove the furthest didn't really get a chance to drive. Not to worry, you guys will be the first in line at the next one you attend. "thumbsup"

:lmao: Great write up and photos Clint.. That graffiti shot is the best :lmao:

Hope your leg is doing better.. I'm sure everyone was hurting on Monday :ror: I know we where.. Its always good to see you guy's and Mandi had good time hanging out with Angela when she was judging.

Thanks for keeping a good attitude and patience with this event and it's progression.

Also, thanks for making the trip. Hope you guy's make the next one.. "thumbsup"

It should say "RCOTC #1 - I was there. It happened. It was off tha hook!" Because anyone who was not there will never know how insane the first one really was!

Hey Clint, could be a good idea. A lot of room to add something ;-)

Man, I had to work out of town the last few days, so I couldn't post up a reply, that and I was in some serious hurt the last few days!!

That was just an awesome event guys "thumbsup" For me it was about 8 solid hours of continuous running (and winching) I'll admit I was definetly "feelin the fade" around gate 110 or so, but by the time you get to the last few gates, I was'nt going to stop for nothing. 8)
Thanks Charlie for being a great team mate, bummer your steering servo took a dump. And a big thanks to Propane, for hangin in there with me. (especially during my repair after a 30 foot tumble.)

And Thanks to Matt and Martin for a great day, as far as the course, I wouldn't change a thing. seriously.

As far as judging, might want to look at the "trail Boss" system. It would just be nice to have everybody running at once (with staggard start times, of course.) probably have to involve the honor system in some way, I dunno. Maybe see how Parker's scoring system flies at the next G6, and go from there, just throw'in in my 2 cents.

The shirt looks good Martin.

Who would like to see event shirts @ the next event? The first one was just way tooooo busy for me to put everything out.

I've got more pictures from my good and long time non rc but 1:1 friend :lmao: Dammm Eddie probably knew more people out there Sunday then me. Thanks Eddie for taking these pictures and filling in trail bossing. "thumbsup" I'll just put up some but will put a photobucket link at the end. Also nice to see some female drivers at our first event. G6 veteran Angela and RCOTC rookie Gretchen who I heard has already put in a order to her husband Rob of Ace Hobbies for her own RCOTC ride. Body has been ordered "thumbsup"

Who the heck put this gate up
