RBX10, RYFT, Scale Rock Bouncer

Are you going to run a servo saver, and if so, which one would be best?
Just curious

The first thing I did to mine was remove the servo saver. Of course, it all depends on what you plan to do with it though. If you are planning to crawl with it, you definitely don't want it. If you are going to "bounce" with it, then its probably a good idea to run one.

Not sure at this point, I have got a HPI one on my LMT that works really well, the LMT 25t one would also work good if you can find one....

It off a HPI Venture with a STRC arm and cam "thumbsup"

I’m about 1 full pack through my Ryft and the servo saver has so much slop the wheels can turn lock to lock without the servo moving. An upgrade will be needed sooner than later.

The first thing I did to mine was remove the stupid servo saver. I guess it's needed for hardcore bashing, but aside from that it was terrible.

Added problem with that floppy servosaver, is that at high speeds, the AVC gets completely discombobulated, trying to compensate for the wheels flopping about, and as a result usually a Death Walk, and a cartwheel because the tires balloon independent of each other due to the open diffs. Only way to stop that is completely disabling AVC.. Which makes fast starts a problem because f the lack of sways. Ugh. Did Axial even tèst the thing at 4s?

On a flat, dry road it’s manageable, but on even slightly rough terrain, it’ll bounce and roll around like a tumbleweed on even the slightest provocation.

“Ill conceived” would be an understatement.

Ah, well. A Losi LMT servosaver is on its way. ( expensive little trinket, though.. )

New electrics arrived for one today, the motor is a tight fit and looks like it may rub slightly on the front outer lower link rod end

Electrics are in!

What a huge difference, yes I know it’s a bouncer and doesn’t really need the low end control, but it’s nice to have it and the combo will also have more power than stock, so it a win win to me

“More power than stock” ehrm.. not really needed for me...My word.. The Spectrum 2200kv is already crazy overpowered ( remember : 61km/h @ 3s GPS confirmed) But that sensored setup ... O_o Quite the difference. Suddenly it’s much more versatile. “Best of both worlds’ And no more annoying “brr.rr.rr.rrrr” too.

By the by, how did You make the beef tubes? Cut them to the right diameter Yourself? And how do You affix them inside the axles, epoxy glue?

It will be slower than stock with the 14t pinion I’m fitting, it’s a hotter combo for sure, but with my radio gear and the excellent Castle firmware I can tune it exactly how I want. I machined the tubes to fit and they are a tolerance fit

Ah. Thank You. Hmm.. I cannot machine. But I dìd find an aluminium tube that ‘almost fits’ I hope the 0.10mm left will be filled adequately with epoxy. I haven’t broken anything yet (apart from sway arms that worked themselves loose, despite red locktite) but am still apprehensive that the front axle will snap. Oh. I dìd purchase the aluminium plates for the rear arms, because they already began showing signs of material fatigue. Just 4 packs in. I wonder if the shorter Integy arms for the Yeti will fit if I attach the rear brackets upside-down, thereby compensating the missing Cm of the yeti link compared to the Ryft.. *pondering*

But, well, I gather a sensored setup will be in the near furure for me. Maybe for the kit. ( yes, that one will be coming too. If only for the included 2-speed. I lóve me some extra technical gizmo’s) )

The Losi Baja Rey 1/10 trailing arms are about the same length, I’m not sure about the sway bar fitment though

Love a quote, I cannot remember who said it or where I heard it... Power without control is nothing...

I am also intrested in your beef tubes!

Is that video with the 14t pinion?
