Rant Thread

Other drivers...

So, I am seeing a trend around where I live.... The speed limit is 55mph, the car in front of me is bouncing between 40 - 50 mph in areas where I cannot pass (double yellow or on-coming traffic). In areas that it is legal/safe to pass they speed up to 60mph, then drop back down to 45-ish in the no-pass areas. What the hell is up with is? I am not trail gating, until I am committing to pass I leave three - four car lengths between us. Then, when I get to where I can pass they'll speed up to where I am doing damn near 90 to get around them. Its not just me, a lot of people I work with have said that this is happening to them too. It is to the point were I assuming the jackass is going to speed up a lot when I go to pass, so I put my transmission in Sport mode and let my twin turbos do the rest.

Plain and simple - because people are ****ing assholes and have the "Me first!" attitude.

I love when people are in a hurry to pull out in front of you, often there are absolutely no cars behind, and then they go less than the speed limit.

Same here, definitely. Also here, the "thing to do" is to putter along in the left lane on highways, often right alongside another car in the right lane, and then speed up to match you if you try to pass them on the right when you finally have the chance. I hope all these people die in their sleep soon.

Add laser based tire shredding devices on thou cars. The moment they speed up as you are trying to overtake them, you know they are going to spend some time by the road side fixing their tire.

007....mission accomplished.

I’m my community people see you coming down the highway, still pull out in front of you, then turnoff less than 100m from where they turned onto the highway, like they couldn’t wait for you to go by before they went. I followed one into the store parking lot to ask why they couldn’t wait, the woman “tootsie” says she need to buy smokes, I’ve know her for years so I gave her a piece of my mind, and left the conversation with a “never again tootsie...never again!”

I encounter all those drivers any time I have to go into the office. It never fails, I'll slalom through (doing the speed limit) a sea of out of state plates that have never seen a curve in their life on the way up the mountain, and as soon as we hit the other side and the road straightens out, they'll do 30 over to pass me and prove their superiority. Look dicknuts, I wasn't passing you to prove anything, I was passing you because you shit yourself at the first corner, slammed on the binders and were doing 20 under the limit. I drive this almost daily, see the NC plates?

Just another Monday. Morons have been doing the slow & speed up game for a lot longer than the 24 years I've been on the highways.

What gets me is the "I don't actually want to drive faster than you but I don't want to be behind you either." Idiots.

Spend 99% of the time watching every one elses stupidity instead of enjoying the drive

Oh, I see you have been to the town I live in. Jackasses will break traction to get out in front of you (neverbinding the fact there is no one behind me for miles), then do 15 in a 35...

I like where your head is at...

But, this is North Idaho, the locals are still getting used to electricity and in-door outhouses, lasers might be a little much... The nice thing is locals are kind of like fainting goats, if you suddenly yell "THINK FAST" they'll pass out.

im tired of the Michiganders forgetting how to drive in the snow or rain. 25 in a 45? its barely wet. so, I just use my turnsignals like the toilet flush handle every other minute im flushing the shit down the road. its the only way I get a good laugh about it.

then you got the oh, I gotta GET OFF HERE, LETME SQUEEZE BY FROM THE FAR LEFT LANE IN LESS THAN AN 1/8TH MILE SIR! HONK HONK!

caps were on purpose. I-75 sucks.

Re: the WTH thread is back!

If you want to read about an out of touch, confused and mentally ill "woman" check this out. She gets $28,000 a year from her parents to play an artist and thinks the government should give stipends to level the playing field.

The US is the most financially unequal industrialized nation on the planet, second only to Russia. The fact that we're even talking about universal basic income should be a huge red flag. The current generation is projected to be worse off than the one before it, which hasn't happened in a long, long time. Not because they're lazy or uneducated, but because hard work and education doesn't net what it used to.

The arts are important to society. It's not always readily apparent, but they are.

Great idea! Link for purchase, please. "thumbsup"

. . . and during rush hour . . . there should be a federal law prohibiting retired people from having the ability to use their cars unless it's a real emergency . . . and that doesn't mean they found a coupon in the mail for a $2 discount for a box of Depends that's so damn big a fork lift from the back of the drugstore drops it off next to their car . . . and when checking out at the drugstore, if you wanna talk about bringing in your plants last night because it got so cold, then grab a damn phone and start facebooking - I have to get to work - I have to take this lube with me to work because the VP of marketing is visiting our office today and . . . well, everybody knows that getting reamed is just a little less painful with lube so STFU about your damn plants and your "almost bingo" experience at the senior center yesterday . . .

I'm not worried about what everybody else is doing. I'm only worried about my life. I've worked hard to get to the point where I can live a decent living. I don't think you should be given a decent living.

If you want to donate some of your money to help others feel free to do so, but don't expect to take my money to help those that refuse to help themselves.

Notice that the spoiled, rich and out of touch brat in that article never mentioned anything she's doing to help others. She wants to fix the problem, but she's not willing to contribute. That sums up most people with the socialistic attitude. They don't want to contribute any of their money, but they sure are willing to steal from the rich. That's such an anti-American sentiment.

It's pretty much impossible to enjoy a long drive anymore. Too much traffic on main roads and on back roads you are bound to run into somebody that pulls out in front of you or is on their cellphone and all over the road or something along those lines.

*phone rings*

Customer: "Hi! I need a couple of mechanical seals like what you sold me back in 2016 (gives part number).

Me: Okay... Let me look that up... Okay... I found the part. Hmmm... I remember those. They were a special order.

Customer: Can I get those today?

Me: (face-palm)

Try driving or riding in an Indian or chinese city. You will go bonkers.
