Rant Thread

Why are there no "crawler" crawlers out there when you can get / build a full size one to ride yourself.

I would so like a insect class of crawlers, 8 legs max

I wish I have one like this. :)

Not to mention, having a separate funny, cool, etc video thread in addition to the pics thread starts to get harder to keep track of. I'm fine with it, the more streamlined the better IMO.

It's just a picture until you click on it. :)

New Rant...

People who don't want to join me in my private version of hell...

My step son is a bum. Don't ask for nothing on any bills in the house and is always asking his mom and granny for money. Ugh

Today's rant....

Videos in the "Cool Pictures" thread... not a fan...

I'll stop posting videos in that thread and maybe delete what I've already posted. Only reason I put any there in the first place was because others had been doing it as far back as a couple hundred pages.

That sucks! It is hard to figure out how to positively motivate someone like that, they will take as long as someone is willing to give. I have little patience for people like that, I'll attempt the carrot for a little bit, then I go with a boot-in-the-butt technique, which doesn't always work, but you feel better.

My son was like that after high school...19 and dedicated to xbox. Then I applied the boot-to-the-butt. Four years later he has a line number for E-5. "thumbsup"

My brother was like this, still sorta is. He didn’t even take his English 33, math 33, or social 33 (dumb classes) during high school, then after high school he flopped around from place to place for a few years (moms place, dads place, and his pill popping friends), until I had enough of him bumming around, so I made him...his live-in/tag-along-wife come live with me. They’ve been living with me for a few years and it’s like pulling teeth every time I try to get them to pitch in with the bills/groceries, but they do try to keep my house clean.

I made him stay with me cause it doesn’t stress out my mom worrying about him. He’s 27, 10 years younger than me. They are the reason I haven’t had a whole lot of extra cash for my hobbies, it’s kinda getting to be a drag.

I introduce them as my children when they are with me, and I run into people that I know...they hate it, which is why I do it.

Being sick, and the amount of time it burns while feeling I'm getting jack shit accomplished.

Oh man, I hear ya, I’ve been getting sicker, and sicker the last couple of days. It started on Thursday when I went to grade the roads in my community. I’m almost done repairing the roads, but I feel like I’ve got the worst flu.

My half brother is the same. He's 24 and been getting a free ride all the time...cable, internet, phone, electric, alcohol, computers, etc and shows no appreciation for it. I cant stand it. I think the longest he has held a job is a couple months. Gets fired pretty often on the first day but usually makes it about a week. He put two weeks notice in at Wal Mart and they said "Nah...just don't come back at all."

I keep telling the people who are funding his shenanigans to stop because he will never change if he does not have to, but they aren't willing to do it. He always "needs one more chance and this time it will work."

I just hate people. Period. I figured this out this weekend.

I helped a lady jump start her car at Wawa and while I was working under the hood she stole my tea and smokes I just bought.

I'm standing at the register at Pep Boys for about 5 minutes surrounded by Pep Boys employees, none of which even acknowledge me. Finally the cashier walks up, doesn't say a word and just rings up my stuff. Could have at least smiled and said "hey thanks for being patient sorry we're busy" or something.

Then I'm behind some jack hole in Walmart pushing his cart slowly, staring at his phone, his kids are running wild. I had to fight down an urge to plan a 10 and a half on his backside.

Not to mention selling stuff on Facebook Marketplace and have had a number of people stiff me, stand me up, or just fall off the face of the Earth. If you change your mind about something it's fine but leaving people hanging is all of a sudden acceptable. And apparently, the younger generation have zero people skills at all. They have no idea how to communicate.

Seems like everywhere I go lately people are either completely oblivious, rude, or arrogant. Even when I go biking on the trail, most people don't even wave back to a friendly nod or a wave. They either ignore you, or just stare at you. It's weird.

I'm ready to build a bunker in the woods, watch the world sink into oblivion from afar and never leave again.

I wish that people could appreciate how much better it makes someone feel to be a little courteous, considerate, or otherwise neighborly. I have plenty of bad days but treating people civilly is a given and it seems like the times that I fail at at that, are the days where I'm just fed up from too many other bad attitudes. A smile and a kind word can go a long way.

New Rant...

RCC Market Place Sellers...

When you sell something, leave the price you sold it for. This is awesome information when researching a used part to sell or buy. Common people... Get with the program!!!

Customer service is a lost art. I ran my restaurant with a huge emphasis on customer service, and was number one in the market...carried that all the way through to managing my IT team. Before I came on board, they treated people like dirt. Didn't answer the phone, rude to people, thought everyone was an idiot, etc. I hard one of my employees call someone a moron over the phone and fired him on the spot. Changed it from the most hated department in the company to one that people actually liked in less than 6 months.

Good service is NOT hard, it's unreal how many service oriented places simply fall flat on their face with the basics.

But then again, when the average person is an uneducated oblivious idiot, it's hard to keep that smile sometimes.

I still can't believe your Wawa story. I'd say karma will get them, but I don't believe karma effects everybody.

Your second rant goes along with your "I hate people" rant above IMO. People have become self-centered, entitled, rude and miserable ****s. I still blame the "everybody wins at T-ball" generation of parents who raised asshole kids. Life isn't that way. Not everybody wins. Nobody is entitled to anything, but that bitch probably felt entitled to the stuff you bought despite just helping her. And people don't want to work or be bothered and that's why they don't provide good customer service.

When I deal with people via phone, email, or online chat and I have the option to rate them I do. I am honest. If they were miserable and useless I stated that and if they are nice and helpful I praise them. Does it make a difference? Probably not, but I hope so. Some people shouldn't be in customer service.

My rant, along those lines, has become people's willingness to accept sub par products. I don't care what I pay for a product, I expect it to at least live up to its claims.

If I buy a cheap bumper from China I expect it to bolt up and look like a bumper. If I buy an expensive bumper from, say RC4WD for example, I expect it to bolt up, look like a bumper, and take abuse.

I bought a glass screen protector for my new phone. It came with an applicator that is supposed to line it up for a perfect fit. Well guess what, it didn't line it up perfectly and for the price I paid it's unacceptable.

I don’t have too many rants but this one has been getting me lately...

Wipe the lense on your phone before you take a picture! There are so many good shots of crawlers and landscape only to be ruined by the ghosting and blur of greasy finger prints in lenses. I’ve made it a habit to always wipe before I snap. Just pretend like you’re doing # 2 because you sure as heck wouldn’t go wipeless there.

I thought it was just a California thing with rude people. As a visitor it seemed like the South and Mid West were always the nicest/polite people.
Times are changing. Time for me to move to the mountains.
